yes, as long as you can connect to the web (e.g explorer) then visit aol.com and sign in.

The fact is that AOL software is a lot of front-end cluttering that is not necessary if you simply want to visit the site and send/receive AOL mail. It is a good program with lots of good and interesting features if you have plenty of memory, because it has a lot of modules that are memory-resident, and hard drive space, because the program and its optional features take up a lot of space.

I am taking for granted that you already have an ISP that you are getting your Internet access from (Sprint, Roadrunner, or someone like that) so that all you need to do is click on Internet Explorer to get connected directly to the internet. If this is the case, then whenever you want to visit AOL, just type in www.aol.com and you will have access to most of the AOL features like email, news of the day, favorite video clip links, etc.

If, however, you are getting your internet connection from AOL and have to connect to their service to get internet access, then you cannot remove their software without losing your internet connectivity.

If you have a AOL router, yes you can bypass AOL altogether, but if you use AOL software to make the connection, then I say you dont have much choice as a lot of junk are linked to AOL software.

No!!!

AOL software is very cleverly made, and you can't use your connection without it.
I had the same issue, and have now changed to BT for troublefree internet. This works.
