When a dog rolls over onto it's back and moves it's body from side to side, it is a sign of submission. In effect, saying to you, or another dog. You're the boss. The tail wagging means nothing. Just because a dog is wagging it's tail doesn't mean it's friendly, and won't bite, or attack. A dog's ears will tell you more about the animals personality. If the ears lay back, or move from side to side, be very careful. If the ears point straight ahead, the dog is curious and probably wants to get to know you. If a dog approaches you while lowering it's head and moving it's body from side to side, while making a panting sound, he or she, just wants to play.

It's a sign of submission. The dog is showing that it trusts you so much, it's willing to put itself in a vulnerable position. That's a happy dog!

Hey, you're supposed to immediately start scratching his tummy, ok? Don't let him have to tell you twice. Actually, this is often done when the dog is on grass. I rarely see it done on the pavement or on hard floor. Sometimes I think the dog is trying to rub his scent onto the grass, or the scent of grass onto himself.

They want their belly rubbed.

This is also a sign of submission in the dog world.

It means he's very happy and he trusts you completely. In that position, he is exposing the most vulnerable part of his body, and he can't defend himself.

You should feel honored.
