Shiners would be my first choice of a live bait read this about them

my next choice would be small bluegill, and if they dont work use a whole nightcrawler on a hook

crawfish also work well for bass

well theres a lot of choices. Minnows would be supreme, leaf worms, night crawlers. Those would be the best choices as far as life bait goes. Good Luck find those 9 pound bass instead of 9in. =)

I am a long time bass fisherman and when it comes to live bait nothing beats the shiner !!! Bass are predators and will eat almost anything that moves including other fish , snakes ,worms , ducklings , lizards , etc.

I would use a nightcrawler on the hook and cast out and then then reel in and kind of pull and let go some times to....it gets the bass' attention....it works like a charm good luck
