find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Why would you want to lose weight include some kind of exercise but "not join a gym" as you say ? Whats wrong with going to a gym ?
Being at a gym is important.. diet and and exercise are essential in losing weight and keeping it off.
Plus being at a gym and using weight machines can help you tone and tighten certain body parts you're not happy with.
I'm 5'2" and I'm currently at 140 lbs. I was 160 lbs even a good while ago back and I'm working out at a gym and looking to get down to 128 lbs.
But then again if you don't want to join a gym join jenny craig..or weight watchers.. some people like nutrisystem too..

You cannot target your inner thighs by themselves. When you lose fat, you lose it evenly throughout your entire body. Some parts of your body hold a higher amount of fat than others, so let's say you start losing fat. You may notice your arms becoming very defined, but your thighs still look 'fat'. If you kept losing fat, eventually your thighs will look defined, though your arms at that point will appear 'ripped' and VERY LEAN. Every BODY is different. The ONLY way to lose fat on the body is to do aerobic exercise 4-6 times a week, for at least 30-45 minutes, working up to 60 minutes, in your FAT BURNING target heart rate range, NOT in your aerobic range. You take your Maximum Heart Rate (220), subtract your age, and then multiply that result by 50-60% and THAT is the heart rate you want to maintain during your exercise for 30-60 minutes 4-6x per week. ALSO, you MUST eat 5-6 meals a day. They can be small, but keep them consistent, every 3 hours or so. This fools your body into thinking it ISN'T starving, so it can release the fat you currently are holding. Add some light resistance training 3x a week (weights) using 10-15 reps per set (2-3 sets per bodypart) and you will make great strides in losing bodyfat AND reshaping your body so it looks firm. You don't want to be skinny and loose, do you?

okay, i don't know the best diet and excercise plan..but i do know this...forget the low carb diet! carbs are everywhere, and carbs attach to water in you're body, so it's just water weight. and i mean you gain that stuff back quickly. i never recommend the low carb diet, don't blame the carbs. be honest with yourself, the only way to burn off calories is to actually BURN it off. if you don't wanna go to the gym, you can do little work outs but you have to continue it on a daily basis, no on' and off's. atleast an hour or more is healthy for you. run around the block, do some sits up. women usually buy them pilatte tapes, and they DO work if you keep up with them, they teach you where to stretch and you'll feel the burn. (i tried it to see if it does work, it does). as for diet, start counting you're calories when you buy food. stay away from high sodium and sugar. none of that can food, frozen meals. those are high in sodium because they are preserved. go with Special K breakfast and snacks. instead of eating 3 big meals a day, eat more often but in SMALL portions, it keeps you're metabalism running. start a new lifestyle and in time, you'll be healthier

The Six Week Body Makeover program is well balanced and really good for the body. It takes a lot of persistance to keep with it, but can be done. The best part for me is that it improved my cholesterol and triglycerides trememdously, something I hadn't been able to do with medication. It is advertised on tv and can be found online at www.bodymakeover.com
Good luck!
