It happens! Kids at the age of 6&7 they do stuff like that! My daughter is 7 and she asks questions about stuff like that! It is how they get to know their bodies and it is perfectly normal! Your not a bad parent. A curious child will explore alot of things at their age!!

This kind of behavior at this age is actually normal. They actually say you should not freak out! That makes it seem more forbidding and actually increases a child's interest. Your child probably does not need counseling. You need to sit her down and calmly explain that these are private parts of our body and we do not share them with other people. Tell her that if someone else wants to "play house" or "doctor" that she should tell them no. Many parenting books actually cover this issue. I would pick up some from your library they can give you some really great ideas on how to best handle the issue. But I really do not think your child is damaged or needs counseling! Take a deep breath and do not feel so bad!

Kids experimenting is natural, I don't think you can find anyone that hasn't played house in on way or another as a kid. But it is a behaviour that needs to be addressed, tell her that she can play house in that way when she grows up to be lady. Hopefully she will choose a man to play house with and not her cousin. She doesn't know any better right now. Spanking her was probably a good thing. It's not appropriate for her to be doing these things at her age, especially with her cousin. Don't let the fact that she played house with your sisters daughter bother you too much either. Keep a watchful eye on her and be consistent with your views about playing house. She will eventually get it. She's just a kid. Trial and error, live and learn. But if it continues after you've talked to her about it, I think you should get her counselling.

I think most kids are curious and examine themselves and their friends. I don't really know the extent of the "inappropriate behavior" so I can't say how normal this is. I think maybe you should at least have a consultation. That way, the counselor could either reassure that everything was still in the normal range and give you a plan for handling it appropriately or confirm your suspicion that things aren't normal and give your child the counseling she would need. I always say better safe than sorry.

Whipping a child over this may cause a bigger problem than there already is......Children are always curious about things, but all children must be supervised. You should obviously speak calmly to her about what is "ok" touching and what is not "ok" touching. Tell her what she should do if this situation comes up again, and encourage her to talk to you about anything- that you are there for her to talk to. You should apologize for getting so upset with her, or she may react in some other not so positive ways. It would be a good thing to attend some counseling sessions.

Your daughter is at the age where she is curious about her and other children's bodies. This is perfectly normal. Now is when you need to sit her down and explain things to her that she will understand. Tell her that her body is hers only and that nobody but her parents and a doctor are to see her undressed. And make sure you tell her that if someone touches her, she is to tell an adult immediately, even if the person wants it to be kept a secret. I doubt if counseling is needed, but you might want to read up on children's sexual curiosity before you approach your daughter. This way you'll be more informed and prepared for surprise questions.

Well i see a lot of kids doing this. They all get curious at some age. I went to a parenting class and what they told us to do was simply and calmly ask them what they are doing. And why they are doing it and how they learned to do it. If you come out yelling at then they will not want to tell you and they will feel like thair private parts are embarresing. Now i dont know about you but I personally would like my daughter to not want to talk about her privates esp when she gets old, ha, but we can't do that. Just calmly talk to her about why she can't play house and why its not ok to let anyone to ever touch her in those places, and if they do she needs to tell you. Good luck. I have a 4 year old and im sure I will have to go thru this some time or another.

well obviously someone is doing something in front of your neighbors kids that they dont need to be seeing...it normal for them to start "exploring" their body and wanting to know about certain body parts but anything else is wrong ...just sit her down and talk to her let her know its wrong and not acceptable in the best way you can to a child that young and wait and see if that works if not then maybe some counseling but i dont know how well that will work seeing how young she is. And there is nothing wrong with you ...you are just being a parent

When my daughter was about 4 I experienced a similar situation. She was going up to people and grabbing their breasts or butts. After some examining I found out her dad was acting this way to his girlfriend in front of her. I took her to a child psychologist and she said she would be fine once she stopped seeing this kind of behavior. So I talked to her dad and he stopped. And after being told her actions were wrong when she did it, she eventually stopped.

i dont think that all kids "play house" but i think most kids do....... i did..... kids are just discoveing things..... i think that you should try to tell her that its not ok and that she will get punished if she keeps acting that way....... i dont think that she needs counseling....... in less there was an adult (like the parents of the 6&7year olds)that started this game of house with her......... then i think it would be best to take her to counseling...... but sence you saw the 6 & 7 year olds teaching her i think that it was there falt and not the perents......so for now .......shes just a kid and she learning....... you just need to gide her along the way........ just teach her right and wrong...... and she will be fine....
