i'm always dizzy, always. it never goes away. i've had this for more than a year. and if i'm sitting or lying down and i get up, i get really dizzy and stumble, i go blind and see bright and black spots for around 10 seconds. i hate getting up because of it. my head also always hurts, and i had a nosebleed first time in 10 years [see my last questin on my profile], i don't know if that's connected.

p.s. i'm NOT pregnant. i do however not eat healthy food.

sounds like low blood pressure or blood pressure...there is a condition can't remember name but will search that is due to your moving from prone to standing.....YEP I FOUND IT! It's called postural hypotension.

In nearly all of these cases, blood pressure is much lower when you stand up, particularly if you stand up suddenly. This fall in blood pressure on standing is likely to cause symptoms of fainting and/or dizziness.

Normally, when you stand up blood tends to pool in the veins in your legs. This is stopped by nerves, which contract the veins in your legs ensuring that enough blood returns to your heart and that there is no reduction in the amount of blood that your heart pumps. This maintains the blood supply to your brain.

However, if there is pooling of blood in your veins, less blood returns to your heart and less is pumped out which means a reduction in the amount of blood going to your brain. This causes symptoms of dizziness and some people may faint. This is exactly what happens to guards on parade when they faint because they have been standing in one position for too long. You can mimic this effect when you squat down for a while, for instance when looking at books on a low shelf, and then stand up suddenly.

Therefore, if you have a low blood pressure and you also have symptoms of dizziness or faintness when standing up suddenly you should have your blood pressure checked, both when you are lying down and when you then stand up. This drop in blood pressure when you stand up is called postural hypotension.

It could be many things like blood pressure but as you mentioned not eating healthy it may also be due to a vitamin deficiency make sure you rule this out by at least taking supplements for a week. The nosebleed indicates high blood pressure but this can also be caused by stress (i.e the stress of you wondering what caused this!) Do you drink enough water as well, as dehydration can cause dizzyness and headaches. If you rule out all the little things then you can narrow it down, after trying all these things if the problem hasnt improved at all make sure you make an appointment with your local physician.

It would be a good idea to schedule a complete physical exam that should include diagnostic tests. But hypertension isn't the only condition that can cause your symptoms. You need a diagnosis. For now, pay no attention to the armchair "diagnoses" you're being given here. You cannot be diagnosed online or by amateurs.

Until you can be seen by your doctor, take care when rising to a standing position from sitting and to a sitting position from lying down. Do it slowly and in stages.

well the dizzyness from getting up is cos of the blood flow. Try not to get up so quickly, and always sit for a few moments before doing so. The longer you've been lying down, the longer you should sit.

As helpful as people try to be on this site to answer your question, you are not going to get the help you need here.
Why have you left it for more than 12 months?
Do what most people have said and get an appointment 'asap' to see your GP.
He/she will just do a few simple tests and treat you accordingly.
Don't be like an ostrich and bury your head in the sand...get it sorted.

What you are describing when you stand sounds like orthostatic hypotension and nose bleeds are also symptomatic of hypertension. You might want to consider having your blood pressure checked just to make sure .Your Dr. can tell you if you are a candidate for blood pressure meds.

If you are not eating anything healthy then this will have a huge effect on you. Fatty and fast food is not good for you in any quantity. You need to speak to your GP and work out a healthy diet as this will only get worse.
