I'm limiting my food to about 1200 calories a day (give or take a few) and drinking 8 glasses of water and exercising twice daily. In the mornings I do 6 ab exercising and like 50 jumping jacks. In the evening I do arm and leg stuff with 15-20 minutes of cardio. Since Monday I've lost 6 pounds. Do y'all think this is a healthy way to diet? Opinions are appreciated.

if you lose more than 1-2lbs a week there is no way you are losing fat - its water weight and muscle and when this happens you are also slowing down your metabolism.
i dont know how much you weight but a persons body thats under 150lbs burns 50cal/hour just for basic functioning (like when you are in coma) and thats 1200cal/day. if you are above 150lbs - your body needs 70cal/hour for basic functioning.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

not at all that just is leading to an eating disorder, if you are worried about losing wheight? Hit up the gym and eat healthy not limiting your calories to 1200 that leads to being easly sick catching flue's and what not. Run everyday. Thats not good what so ever.

Yes that sounds healthy as long as you rest. And you might only burn 2 lbs a week from now on, more than that is not fat that you are losing but water or muscle tone.

well 1200 is a little low but if your dont feel as though you are starving yourself then thats fine.
however make sure you dont loose too much weight quickly because you could be working off muscles and not fat and you need muscles to increase your metabolism.

Well if its 1200cals of crap then no but if you are sure you are getting everything you need then it sounds ok but unless you are really petite then maybe increase the amount of cals by a couple of hundred.
