My fav was my dad's I don't know what brand. I have a homemade one too he made.

My favorite is the one that I have caught the most bass with. It is no longer made and can't be replaced so I take extra care with it. Made by All Star back in the 80's and the first rod I bought that cost over $30. The model is WR1 (worm rod 1) a 6'6" MH graphite casting rod. The reel , a Team Daiwa TD2Hi was also my first high dollar reel. The complete set up cost me a whole weeks pay but has lasted and served me well for close to 20 years. That is a bargain! Since then I bought 14 more of these reels on Ebay for $60 bucks each. Old school quality made in Japan!
The most treasured rods and reels I own (some Zebco 33 classics and Abu spinning rods) were left to me by my fishing mentor, my dad. These were to be past on to my son but he was killed in a motorcycle accident when a drunk driver ran him over. I guess I will keep them and hope someday my daughter will bear children and that I can teach them to fish with those special rods and know that my dad would be very happy that they had them.
Thanks for the question Fireman. It brought back some great memories. Don't ever part with that homemade rod...unless it's to your kiddo's!

Custom wrapped rod on a Calstar blank. Daiwa reel. That covers my 3 or 4 favorite outfits. Southern California saltwater fishing.

Fav rod is a Falcon lowrider flippin stick, I cross their eyes when I set the hook!! Also like my Arcadia rods. Fav reels are abu garcia and quantum.

For the money an Ugly Stick rod is hard to beat . I like diawa or shimano reels

My favorite brand of rod's are nething made by Shakespeare and my favorite reels are rhino and Shakespeare spin cast reels.

I can't make fun T. But my first thought was one that really doesn't have a brand name so to speak!!!hehehe.reeled a big one in last night. Just having some holiday fun!!!
