I have heard it is "human nature" to want what we cannot have, but any other thoughts.....?

yes, it human nature "forbidden fruit is the sweetest".
sometimes the chase is what you love not the person you chase.

I wanted a guy that I had walked out on cause I was scared of this real and true relationship. He wouldn't trust me after that. I didn't want to be with him just cause I couldn't have him, I wanted to be with him cause I loved him.
24 years later, we did get back together. It was a heartache to try and be shot down every time before though.

we want perfection... but that is impossible, besides the fact that if someone was our perfect man, we would feel insignificant in comparison. we want security and happiness, and we believe, (sometimes subconsciously), that that is what we need to be happy.
