Absolutely. Sugar has Zero nutritional; value and is not only empty calories, but a huge contributor to all diseases of the body. What's more, carbos, like cake, cookies, breaks, rolls, etc convert immediately to this simple sugar. That's why we are overweight as a nation, but there also is an abundance of heart problems, cancers, and Diabetes. Of course! Sugar is about 15 calories per teaspoon. That may not seem like much, but just thnk that all the calories in a soft drink come from sugar and that is why they are about 130 calories per 12 oz. can- up that to the super sizes at fast food restaurants, and some people literally can use up all their daily calorie allottment on sugar!
