And they even apply a certain degree of supremacy upon them...
Why don't they just convert to Judaism?

^^~ Simon ~^^: Muslims are Hanifs (The religion of Abraham) Which is pure monotheism, We are neither christians nor Jews.
Also Muslims believe that the Torah and Bible are no longer Valid since they've been corrupted by men.
In The Qur'an there are some verses which say that the Qur'an contains some laws also contained in previous Books, but that's because their source was one.

Simon: If you like we can debate about, my yahoo ID is ultimate_bot1603 add me, There are verses in the Qur'an stating that men have corrupted the word of God (Injeel and Torah) and the Qur'an should be our only source, It's great to see that some people actually know something about Islam, though a bit misinformed.

EDIT: I think you confuse me for a Shiite, they hold their imams to be saint, they believe in the pure 14 who came after Ali and they were like Demi Gods, In Sunni Islam, there are no Saints, we must hold on to the Qur'an and Sunna (Hadith), and why do you refuse to debate with me? if I am wrong i plead you to correct me, it would just be a friendly chat if you like, because it seems that you templars are an interesting bunch according to what you've written, and would like to know more.

That does make sense, and is very though prevoking. However I think that the reason that Christians don't convert to Judaism is that the Jews have not accepted God as their savior. While the Bible says and Christians do admitt that the Jews are God's chosen they have yet to choose God. So in essense if Christians were to convert to Judaism they would be denying God which would in turn defeat the purpose of being Christian.

According to Christian belief the Jews of the old testament were God's chosen people who had their covenent with him. The new testament is God's new convenent which was also extended to the gentiles since many Jews did not by Christianity and its teachings. If I recall correctly they were looking for the messiah as being another King Davis type who would restore their former glory, throw out the Romans and hence the lamb would lay down with the lion. Some prohecies regarding the messiah have not been fufilled as some Jews explained to me so hence they are still waitng.
When you are born into Christanity you are taught over and over again as an infant that Jesus is the vine and we are the branches and the only way to get to God is through him. Similarily Muslims are taught that there's one God Allah, Mohammed is his messenger and those who reject this shall pay dearly for it in the next life. In other words, we are too chicken in most cases to switch horses in mid stream because of the threats of damnation drilled into our heads!
Having said that, as a Christian I respect the Jewish religion as the mother religion from which Christianity and Islam evolved. As an analogy I left home years ago and run my life quite different than how my parents did yet I still respect their ways and orginal guidance.

JESUS to me is more than jew. HE WAS GOD IN THE FLESH.. a miracle that is to be unique throughout eternity, because HE will have the scars of the cross forever..as a reminder of the price of sin. JESUS was born into a jewish family, but the scriptures continuously say that HE died for all of humankind..The jews rejected HIM as the Messiah and that was in the prophecies about HIM, so it wasn't a big surprise. And remember what JESUS said to the disciples when they watched HIM ascend into the sky, " go and teach all nations, .." not the jews only. so to me that includes me, that I can become an heir according to the promise.. see Galatians 3: 2-29..

The Jews are still waiting for the Messiah to show up. God has been here in physical form (Jesus) and now He is here in spirit form (the Holy Spirit) and He will come again (The Glorious Second Coming of Christ).
Being Jewish is a culture, a nation, and a religion. You are born into Judaism. I personally do not believe in conversion. I am Irish so how can I become another ethnicity - the answer is I can't.
The Jews believed that the Messiah, the prophet which Moses spoke about, would come and deliver them from Roman bondage and set up a kingdom where they would be the rulers. But they did not understand that the kingdom Jesus came to set up would be a spiritual kingdom. Even though the Jews actually witnessed Jesus' miracles - alot of them had a hard time believing that their king - walked with impoverished people and was a simple man. They wanted someone with physical armies and physical wealth.
Because the Jews rejected Jesus - He took his message to all peoples (the Gentiles now known as Christians).
Some Christians have converted to Judaism and some Jews have accepted Christ and converted to Christianity.
Get a good study Bible which cross references alot of Bible verses. The Jews are God's chosen people but everyone who accepts Christ are now grafted in to the family of God. There is a difference between being a created creature of God and being part of the family of God.
FYI - Allah is not the God of Christians and Jews. The Arabic name for “God” is the word “Al-ilah.” It is a generic title for whatever god was considered the highest god. Different Arab tribes used “Allah” to refer to its personal high god. “Allah” was being worshipped at the Kaa’ba in Mecca by Arabs prior to the time of Mohammed. It was formerly the name of the chief god among the numerous idols (360) in the Kaaba in Mecca before Mohammed made them into monotheists. Historians have shown that the moon god called “Hubal” was the god to whom Arabs prayed at the Kaa’ba and they used the name “Allah” when they prayed.
Today a Muslim is one who submits to the God Allah. They want to kill everyone who does not practice being a Muslim because they are doing the work of Satan. Satan is trying to stop the Second Coming of Christ, but we all know how the story ends, don't we?

Yes Jesus is a Jew. His birth was promised by God to Abraham and therefore the Jews are called God's chosen people.
Christianity comes from and because of the Jewish man, Jesus. God loves his people and so do Christians. We appreciate them.
We don't convert to Judaism because...........it is a religion. Jesus is not a religion He is a personal relationship.. This is what He came to tell us. He said that He fulfilled the Jewish or Mosaic law for us. The Jewish people could not follow the law perfectly and neither can we. Jesus did it.
Now, since He died for our sins, He has told us that all of the laws are summed up. "Love God with all of your heart, mind and soul. This is His first commandment and the second is love your neighbor as yourself."
We still can't perfectly do this no matter how good or religious we are.
As Christians, we depend on Jesus to forgive our sin and help us to follow God's will. Christians are God's adopted children because when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we become His brothers and sisters.

Most important, Judaism is the old covenant (law), Christianity is the new covenant (grace). The problem is that man cannot be saved by the old covenant... not because of any fault on the part of the law, but because one would have to follow it perfectly in order to be saved by it and that is beyond man's means.
Also, being "God's chosen people" did not confer any sort of superiority or automatic free pass to heaven on the Jews. Those who refused to repent were still judged for their sins; those who were not Jews, yet were repentant (such as Rahab and Ruth, two of the four women mentioned in Matthew's genealogy of Jesus) were forgiven of their sins. The only way they were "chosen" was as the bloodline in which Jesus would enter the world.

We don't say it. God's Word says it, we believe it because our Lord does not lie. But as Romans 1:16 tells us...the Jews are not the only people that God loves. He loves you, too. God did not choose the Jews because they were more deserving. The Jews have been God's special people for over 2,000 years when God chose Abraham and promised great blessings to all his descendants.

We are Christians silly. That means Christ, as in Jesus. It means we believe Jesus is our Savior and our path to God. If we converted to Judaism then we would have to become Jews for Jesus which seems a bit silly since we are already Christians for Jesus.

The Bible is many things, but it is also a self history of the Jewish bloodline from Adam to Jesus. It is only natural that a self-written history of yourself would announce that you are special or God's chosen people. Those folks who consider the Bible a "package deal", feel obligated to follow every word, unless they have been told differently.
PS: I am a "red letter" Christian, I try to follow Jesus' words and I am very suspicious of other verses in the Bible.
