outside = rocks or stepping on a bug (picture big OUCH! scene or EWWWW scene here).
also, think of during the reception when people will see your feet (aka removing garter) do you want them to be dirty and possibly get on the dress?
i say shoes.

Usually you can pick for yourself. I personally could never walk down the aisle to that one (I hate it). I've been to weddings that have different music played. There are so many gorgeous pieces of music as alternatives, just look at all the classical music out there. Personally I'd like to walk down the aisle to Cavalleria rusticana - Intermezzo. I've been to weddings where people have done it to Air On A G String by Bach, Pachelbel's Canon, Handel's Water Music, Clark's Trumpet Voluntary (which I'd have when leaving), or the insrtumental version of Kissing You by Des'ree (which is gorgeous and I'd consider that one myself if I couldn't have the other).

I'm also getting married outside. Im wearing flip-flops under my dress. No one will see them anyways. I didnt want to go barefoot due to the fact that you never know what you could end up stepping on. And heels were way out of the question due ot the fact that sometimes the ground isnt always flat, and it would totally suck if you stepped in a hole, broke a heel, fell over, etc. So flip-flops it is.
me and my hubby also bought flip-flops for afterwards that when you walk on the beach it says Just Married. (we're getting married on the beach)

well that depends on whether or not you have tough feet. you could step on something sharp that would cause you pain or to bleed. I WANTED to walk down the isle barefoot, but I am having an outdoor wedding and am going to be walking through an orchard, so I have decided to wear heels. (I have flipflops for the reception if needed!)

Either way it will be BEAUTIFUL, just make sure you are comfortable! Good Luck!

I wore flip-flops with rhinestones to the outdoor wedding. Heels are uncomfortable all night long but getting muddy feet or stepping on rocks would have been uncomfortable too and shown on my face in pictures. Not to mention black/brown feet when taking of the garter would have looked pretty nasty. Hard to be graceful and see hubby's face when you are looking out for sticks on the ground. Whichever you choose make sure thats what you have on when you are getting your dress hemmed so it doesn't drag/trip you up or be too short.

Hey Girl I like your style!!! :) I plan to go bare foot for my wedding! Nobody knows this except my sister-in-law! Everybody will be surprised when he removes my garter! :)
But, have you ever seen the barefoot shoes? They sell them at Wal-Mart, it basically is a very dainty foot decoration, it goes around your toe then around your ankle! They cost less than $5 per pair and they come in many colors and styles! I plan on getting rinestones, it will look like diamonds! Just be sure if you consider these, look during the summer, they are hard to find during the winter months!
Congrats and have a blessed marriage! Just sign me, The Barefooted Reverend Susan!!! :)

Is it an indoor or outdoor wedding? If you're on the beach, go barefoot. If you're indoors or outside in rougher terrain, wear shoes. You don't need to wear heels, though- you can wear whatever kind of shoe floats your boat. I'm wearing $6 brown velvet Chinese slippers and I'm happy as a clam about it :)

If you have a long dress, it doesn't matter. Just make sure that your dress is hemmed acording to the shoes you are wearing. I changed shoes the day before the wedding and the dress dragged the grown. If I had to do it over again, I would shead the shoes altogether. My wedding, I can do what ever I want.

If you have a photographer that you have hired and you want pictures of you walking down the aisle...girls are more graceful when they wear a heel..you dont have to wear a heel all night but photographers can get better pictures in a heel because you walk more gracefull and are poised better when in a heel. But its not like you have to wear it all night. So...its still your decision in the end, but my photographer has suggested a heel for me...good luck!

I wore flip flops at my wedding. Nobody even knew. My wedding was indoors, but I think flip flops would be good especially outside because they have a thick enough sole on them. I got the ones that say bride on the inside. Plus you don't want your feel to be all dirty at your wedding.

Wear shoes of some sort, even if it's outside. You wouldn't want to step on something and cut your foot.

Doesn't necessarily need to be heels. You could wear ballet flats, or sandals. But, wear something on your feet.
