Great ideas people; But can someone actually give me a number or web site to contact the photographers?

I don't know where you live, but I found my photographer on www.respond.com. We are paying $900 and get all day coverage and a photo album.

Call a few (3) Photographers and have each of them prepare a price on EXACTLY the same package. Do not go overboard. You just DO NOT NEED 500 PICTURES OF THE WEDDING.

Put the disposable cameras on the tables and only use the Photographer for a few of the special pictures. Walk down the aisle and the posed photos.

I do not want to sound negative, but the photos get put into a album and are almost never looked at . And here comes the ugly part. Many marriages do not last and they are trashed or stored anyway.

I found my photographer on craigslist- I'm getting 12 hours of photography, a wedding album, an engagement shoot, and rights to all of the pictures for $1000.

If we knew where you lived, maybe we COULD give you some phone numbers.

I got my sister to do my photography for Next month and I'm only paying her $500, She's working on her own photography business. She's better than any professional photragher out there, And im not just saying that cuz she's my sister, we dont usually get along. lol

It can be done!!!! Try to find an up and coming photographer who is trying to get their name out there!\

Or try a photography student from a college. As a backup I would make sure you have plenty of amatuers with cameras as well. Just in case!

Congrats and good Luck!

I suggest visiting wedding directory such as http://www.weddinglenox.com

Unlike most yellow pages, they have price comparison for the vendors (DJ,videographer, florist, and photographer) you can choose.

You can also try their matching system http://www.weddinglenox.com/f-membersignup1.php that will match you up with local vendors. I tried it and have good result as I only recieved responses from vendors according to my request.

One problem I had with my wedding is that it is hard to locate vendors in most website as most likely they group by states and there are too many of them that's too far from me and I have to look at each site to figure out.

The sites I provide above have a easy to use layout to show you pictures, pricing and location in one page plus, you can send out your inquiry for matching vendor to contact you. That save me lots of time to locate the best vendors with the right price.

Honestly... look in the classifieds.

The amateurs make sure they do the best job.
You don't want someone who's in it just for that $1000 you're paying them.

Honestly, what can you say to them when you get back sh!tty pics? Take them again?

I'm telling you.... hire an amateur... or at least ask around first.
Plus... amateurs ALWAYS have portfolios, so you can see their work!!
