If there is a headphone socket on your record player then it's easy. You will need a cable with a stereo jack plug (3.5mm) at each end. You will also need a recording programme, I use audiograbber which is a free download. Then plug the cable into the headphone socket on the tape, and the line in socket behind your computer. Start Audograbber and under file select line in sampling. Start off with the record player volume fairly low and adjust till the recording levels are OK just to test. Then simply record to your computer. There are some software packages available which remove pops and crackles but I don't know any free ones. If you wish to convert to MP3 you will need an encoder, the instructions for downloading this are in Audiograbber. Hope this helps

We performed about 4 diverse albums very last nighttime. together with Roxy music, CSN, a blended complation (No Nukes 1979) and Marvis Muller Westernhagen (Mit Pfefferminz bin ich dein Prinz 1978) The previous few weekends we've been putting some on (Bob Dylan) to 'digitize' them. there is not any longer something fairly like vinyl.

No special cables needed. You need a sound card that can accept input via rca (the red and white plugs). You either need a reciever that has "phono" input or you must seperately process the sound through a RIAA equalization "equalizer". You go record player to recevier, then to the computer, save the file to hd, then hd to cd
