That's an interesting question. It took some thought, but perhaps the essence of Christianity can be described through one of Christ's most difficult instructions. If I can do this, I'm probably doing pretty well as a Christian.
Mathew 5:43-44
43 ¶ Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

The Apostles’ Creed is not found in the Bible. The Apostles’ Creed was not written by the apostles. Rather, it was written at least 150 years after the apostles had all died. It is called the Apostles’ Creed because it is supposed to be a record of what the apostles taught. The Apostles' Creed is as follows:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.

This seems like a very personal issue. I think the essence is love. Yes, faith, peace, etc..., but without love faith can become a dictator, wars can be waged, people enslaved... look at history. The people I most remember for being Christians are those who just simply loved.

The essence of Christianity is relationship to God through His Son, Jesus. Christ's atonement for sin transfered my guilt to Him, and His innocence to me. Therefore God's justice is satisfied, and His mercy and grace are provided to me, and I'm accepted into the family of God just as Jesus is, when I trust Him as my Savior.

Maybe there is something more to Jesus than we see in Christianity. Christianity is by definition those who follow and live by the indwelling Christ. In reality true Christianity is not individual but the corporate expression of the indwelling life of Jesus Christ. It is the portions of His Spirit that indwell us and when we come together, i.e. assemble, we together express Him. He is the bread broken for us to consume and become one with, this is our communion. You are what you eat! It is Christ that we eat, the tree of Life come in the flesh. We have taken in the portions of Christ, Eternal life and it is by this life that we live. This is the essence of Christianity!

The essence of Christianity is to Love.
You can neither love God nor Jesus, nor yourself nor anyone else if you are unwilling to Love.
Jesus taught people to Love.

Redemption, sanctification, and the hope of salvation.
In other words, coming out of Egypt (Pesach), receiving the Torah (Shavuot), and awaiting the reign of the messiah (the kick off of which is Sukkot, isn't it?). Its essence is in the Tanach even though it's often divorced from that context.
Shalom.

PEACE
there is a non-local entity called Ra that is able to use 2 diff methods, communication and persuasion, at the symbolicly non-local level to the extent that all actions are assured where it concerns the evolutional process of passivity-- all its tru followers are peacekeepers to put it mildly, however im not a christian so maybe that's just an overly optimistic definition.
