Date an Italian boy ,possibly not too fluent in English, otherwise to please you he will speak with you just in English and then it would be for you useless...!!! Jokes aside, after you've learnt a basic Italian, the best would be to post in a forum or even in the Yahoo's Italian section. I'm Italian and I've improved a lot my English by reading and answering questions in this section. For yr first starting you could use some of the many Internet links for beginners

Also try to watch Italian TV programms on the Sat and listem Italian songs. Speak as much as you can with Italians and try to enter into email correspondence with some Italian pen pal .

I would highly reccomend Pimsleur CD's. I spent a month in Italy last summer in an Italian Language school and learned more with my Pimsleur CD's then I did at the school in Italy. I think the big difference it I remember everything I learned on the CD's but not much I learned while going to school.

In my opinion I suppose you must keep in UK. I suppose there are extra chances, I reside in Italy and It's difficult to uncover a task although you've got a measure so..! There are a few well universities so you'll be able to cross to research there and you then uncover a task! By the best way if you are going to transport in three-four-five years it is plenty of time so you'll be able to be taught it, you'll be able to take courses :) If you wish to have a task right here you ought to talk Italian, if you do not talk italian then how are you able to talk with individuals or support individuals?

Take a class and/or find people who speak Italian. I've also found that finding chat buddies (e.g. someone who speaks Italian and is trying to learn English) helps a lot.

Write the Italian word for everything in your house and stick it on the item so you see it all the time. When you read a newspaper pick ten common words and replace them with the italian. Every day read the paper inserting those words with your mind till you know them all, then pick another ten.

I learnt some English listening to rock songs and reading lyrics. I had translations done by Google translator and then I managed to write some sentences. Actually I don't speak so well, but it's easier for me to write in English and I can stand an online chat with my american and aussie friends.
So, you can try listening to italian songs.

You have to speak the language in order to learn the language, so by whatever means allows you to do that. Take a class, join a club, buy some cd's and books. It is most important to speak though.
