Do not cook for a recovering alcoholic using beer or wine. They may be on medication that will react adversely with the alcohol. You could make them very sick.

Sorry, I wouldn't. I have a friend that is a recovering alcoholic and he said that if I cook with beer or whine it might tempt him to go back to drinking, even though the alcohol is cooked off the taste is still there.

I wouldn't- I don't think its against the law or anything, but I think that since you are the host, you should respect the needs of your guests.
If you want to cook with wine or beer, at least have something available for them to eat that does not include those ingredients.
After all, you wouldn't put a meat product into a dish and serve it to a vegetarian, would you?

i wouldn't recommend that...if they're recovering alcoholics..the lil taste of beer or wine may trigger things for them...Why can't you cook without using beer or wine and save those dishes for other guests when u invite them.

As long as you cook it long enough after you add it. You need to cook out the alcohol no matter who is eating it so it tastes right. Most people would never know you put any beer or wine in.

The alcohol cooks out, however, it would be a tease to give them food that tastes like liquor.
