Oh yes.
Every single email like this simply re-enforces the fact that christianity is a dangerous cult. Nothing more.
And you're right, this is one of the kinder messages I've read. One memorable one stated that I'd be eating my mother's s hit for all eternity in hell.
All I could think was "better that than being a brain-dead moron in heaven".
But it's all academic after all; religion is bunk. Nothing more.

As a Bisexual Christian, boy do I get it! All of what Jesus said about loving God and believing God and trusting God goes out the window because of my percieved sins. According to my Christian 'bretheren' I am condemned because my apparent sins are too much for God to blot out.

So my e-mails are basically telling me that I am condemned, and whatever Jesus said about trusting him is not effective. I figure that my 'bretheren' are sinless, or if they sin, it's not as bad as my sin. I should be perfect, and hold them as an example to how a Christian to be.

I used to get them a lot, but they've tapered off a bit recently.

That one's actually not too bad. My favorite is the one I was informed that I was subhuman--that particular man also made a point of telling me that it was his duty to protect "religionists" on the board and that he would do everything in his power to "embarrass me". When they just quote Bible verses it's annoying but not too bad...it's when they question my status as a human being that I get a little ticked off.

Put Wiccan in your profile, if you haven't already. I get several a day. I'm considering turning off the "contact me" option, but then I couldn't chat with the nice people. Dilemma.

I really feel sorry for the gay / lesbian posters. I have no doubt that they get tons of this stuff.

Very loving.

I've asked 200 annoying and irreligious questions here and have yet to get even one piece of hate mail. Frankly, I'm a little jealous of ya. Sigh.

Alas, no hate mail here, either; I guess I'm not very good at hacking off the fundies.
