I have a guy who loves me but he says he needs me time and he is not ready for a relationship. So he broke up with me and wants to remain friends. What the hell does that mean? I just get confused when ever we talk cause when asked if he still loves me he says yes every time. What do I do to get him back? He has his own buisness so he is a very busy man. Do I just back off or do I keep in touch with him till he is ready for a relationship. By the way he is only 24.

Dear sweetheart, I hope this doesn't hurt. But me and my friends will tell a girl that as a polite way of saying (I'm still playing the field, and need time to think if if I can commit to just one woman or do I need more time to sew my wild oats?). **This next thing I'm saying is very important! If you do indeed want this guy please try to play hard to get this is very effective, and can drive the guy crazy! A sure way of losing him would be to push it -- too soon I mean; because he is made it clear that he needs space!

Most likely it means he wants to concentrate on building his business and not put the time and comittment into a serious relationship. I suppose the harsh answer would be that he feels that his business is more important than a relationship with you. Honestly as a guy if you were that important to me I would make as much time with you as I could and be up front and honest about telling you that mu business would be consuming almost almost all my time right now and let you decide if you could deal with it. I guess I am saying you probably won't get him back, at least on a permanent basis. You can try and keep a friendly relationship, butting waiting in the wings for someone to be ready for a relationship never ever works.

Well, I'm 21 and i own 2 businesses and i can tell you that even thought they are a lot of work i can always find time for someone that i love. I don't want to give you the wrong idea.... when i started my company's i had NO time for ANYONE so maybe he's in the same boat. If i asked a girl to stay friends with me after we broke up it would mean that i liked her but i eather didn't have the time for her or didn't feel like she was the one. You should really just sit down with him and ask him why he broke up with you, if he really loves you he will let you know exactly how he feels.

Keep in mind that he is only 24 and has a business. He probably wants to build up his business and is concentrating on that right now, and feels that he does't have the time and energy to do that and have a good relationship. I was kind of the same way when I was about that age (4 years ago). I felt as though I couldn't concentrate on my career and give a girl the attention she deserved.

24 and has his own buisness. He's a catch and he knows it. If he doesn't want to be in a relationship but wants to be friends with benifits (booty call) dump him fast because he's gonna use you just for that. He'll probably keep saying he loves you just to get some when he wants it. Don't let yourself be used like that. Have a little bit more respect for yourself than that. Your probably worth way more than you think to the next man

I had a similar situation with a female that im still cool with she says she loves me as well but theres a twist. I broke up with her becuase I felt like she was becoming distant. but we decided to stay friends. This has been going on for about a year and a half and since the our relationship has become more hurtful then anything else becuase the fellings are still there and im constantly having to hear her talk to other guys and I often feel like Im waiting for her to findsomeone who she feels for like I feel about her. so I think if it was meant to be it will be just dont try anymore love has a mind of its own

It means the same thing it means when a woman says it.

He's not 100% interested. He'd like to see what else is out there for him and he wants you to stand by and wait. If you don't want to wait, that's cool with him, because at this moment in time, he's not 100% interested. Perhaps 10 years from now, he'll regret letting a good one get away, but right now, he thinks he can do better.

See? Exactly what a woman means when she says it.

if he says he loves you, he loves you, i guess. but sometimes people do need some "me time." so just leave him alone for a bit. now that doesnt mean you have to cut off all contact with him, but dont call him as much, dont ask to see him, things like that. he'll come back around.

you ever notice how if you keep trying to hold a cat you just met and pet it, itll run away, but if you ignore it, it wont leave you alone?

people are remarkably similar to cats in that respect. dont believe me? try it out.

The wind is blowing by you at a steady speed. Why would you even consider letting life pass you by while another gets to do as they please. If the guy isn't mature enough for you now, then it's time for you to sail off into the sunset and find yourself lasting meaningful romance and love.

If he was truly interested, he would not have broken up with you in the first place.

Give him space and consider moving on.

The fact that he says that he loves you is just words. I think he says it, because he would like you to be his friend. The word love has many degrees of interpretation.
