You get a discount for being over 25 but the 3 years only of driving is what will kill you..

As others have said, since their is no roof structure on the convertable, it is more expensive to insure as it costs a lot more if damaged or someone is injured... Each insurance company is different but if I remember, a v-6 convertable insures for the same price as a mustang GT coupe

If you cut off the top you will destroy the value of the vehicle. Car collectors like cars in their original condition exactly the way the were sold new in 1965. Convertibles are nice but it needs to be an original not a mickey mouse conversion. If you want a convertible Mustang then you should buy one. They sold lots of them in 1964 to 1966 so they are available. The convertible model had a heavier frame to keep the car from turning over. There was a lot of hydraulics also to make the top go up and down. You are looking at a very large expense.

Mustangs in general are expensive to insure. I have a 2003 coupe and I pay $272.68 a month and i have had my lic. since I was 17 and I am currently going to turn 23. So that's like, 6 yrs of driving experience. You really have to do a lot of shopping around. Try Eastwood they gave me the cheapest quote. Try all the insurances out there. Most of them offer totally free quotes on-line. I hope that helped. :)

Car insurance is based on several factors. Collision repair costs, frequecy of theft, vandalism and probability of occupant injury in a crash. The convertible excels in all four of those immediately. Try doing some online quotes OR call in person to avoid email spams which always come with online inquisitions. I would say the drop top will be a higher casualty risk in many respects. Get a Mustang with a sunroof if you want to see the sky.

You pay to play. The convertible will be more higher than the coupe. The biggest difference will be whether you get the 6 cyl or the GT V8. If you want the convertible, get it. You are only young once, so enjoy the time. You'll always make more money in your life, but you will only have your youth once.

Go for it, and live life the way you want.

The convertible will be more expensive.... theres a saying "when the top goes down the price goes up" And with out having experience your insurance will still be high

They are both high. The highest will be the convertible. It will be even higher if you are under age 24, or male, or haven't had your license long.

They also will require Supreme fuel, high octane.

Dude your 27 and havent had your license long, I would get something like a cavalier or a ford focus. That way everyone else would be safer driving where you live, please say you don't live in Florida

Might be the convertable. It's less safe if you ever roll it.
