My boss called me this the other day at work and said I was a lovely lady when he and I were talking. What does this "Southernbelle" mean? Thanks

It means that he thinks you're sweet and have nice manners. Unless it is said with a sneer, being called a Southern Belle is a great compliment.

Are you from the south? That's what pretty and usually well-off women were called from the south in the past. They wore the big dresses, the bonnets, and carried a parasol. Think Gone With the Wind. Sounds kind of inappropriate for work.

A Sothernbelle refers to a woman from the southern United States (the southern states, such as Alabama, Arkansas etc.)

It is definitely a compliment. It means you're nice because you have southern hospitality and belle means beautiful girl in french.

Typically a Southern Belle is attractive, polite, hospitable, attentive and articulates very well. Generally a very pleasant person to be around.
It is nice compliment, but please don't think he is hitting on you because of my description.
