My friend come over every Saturday, and my chis gets very happy about it when she plays with them. So she came over yesterday (they were in they're crate), but then they start barking the furious way. It's like they don't know who she is! Anyone know how this may have happened?

My chis are very protective of me and my husband and they dont like anybody coming into the house unless me and my husband are there right beside them . good luck .

It might be the age of your dogs? Young puppies make friends with everyone until they reach the age of sexual maturity. They they get protective and dominant about what they consider theirs. How old are your chis? If they were friendly before but just changed, it might just be a symptom of growing up.

My chihuahua use to alway freak out when people came over . I have the visitor come and sit down and ignore him . He has since been better as long as he can smell them first.

it might be because your friend looked like she/he hit you or did something bad to you. chihuahuas are very protective to their owners. they wont let anyone mess with their owner.
