It helps stroke the ego when you have no real facts. The only reason that religion pushes faith as a good thing is because all they have is emotional arguments, not rational ones. Unfortunately, emotional arguments work well because humans have been emotional creatures for far longer than rational ones.

You can know a truth. Have an experiment to prove it. Even is we could prove that Source exists we need a bridge to fill the gap...I feel that that is faith. The interesting thing is, is that we will never have the proof that atheist seek, because if we did we would not need faith. Faith connects us on an emotional level using the right brain, where facts can not.

I have faith in other things....ironically not in a god. I think sometimes faith can be a good thing.
When I got married I had no proof really that I was with the one I wanted to be with forever (how anyone can state this factually is beyond me) yet I took a leap of faith basically and so far have 14 great years.

Even atheists have faith. Faith is a word to describe hope and wishfull thinking. Faith involves holding steadfast to an ideal even when it seems to be a losing battle. Faith is an expression of emotion available to humans to keep us going. If theist want to use the power of faith on their religions who am I to say no, I however chose to use my faith in knowing that one day we will discover all and get back to building human utopias that all can enjoy and learn in without the need for imaginary beings.

Faith is just the word used in order to believe a lie. Growing up in an atheist household, I found it quite strange to find out that god was two males that procreated (had sex) together, and made human beings. What is more, they are father and son, so I call that incest. You must have a great amount of "faith" to swallow that, and never question, when reality proves otherwise.

Hitler that said something to the effect of "if you are gonna lie, make it a really big lie as it will be impossible for ppl to believe that you are lieing."
There goes your theory that lies need faith to be believed.
Truth, on the other hand, is often seen as a lie. Why? Because truth is seldom believed, why lies are swallowed like so much soft drink.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for. The evidence of things not seen.

Truth needs nothing, truth is truth weather you believe it or not. Lies don't need faith but it does need fools who don't know truth! Faith in the truth is good!

What is truth? Only what you believe to be true, only what you have faith in being true. Truth needs as much faith as lies.

FAITH IS, being scientific, you should acknowledge that FACT and come to a LOGICAL conclusion. Evidently you have problems with reality. You have chosen to ignore what you can't understand.
