Depends on local laws and Community Guidelines.

Most mammals have harem system, monogamy is only 100 years old. Polygamy is allowed my law in many culture, and are almost required by pressures of environment. In some culture even one female will perform duty of wife for all the brothers in the family.

Why shoud there be?
Why does anyone need more than one wife?
Is this for sex?
Please.
The number one cause of poverty and famine is people creating children that they two of then cannot support. The rest of the world has to shift to compensate for their "needs."

Why can't there be more than one husband?

There has to be a system that is predictable and raises the next generation.

Would you like your daughter to be one of 10 wives, is that her job?

We act like the main function of women is provide sex, this is silly and discriminating.
NO, one is enough and based on the fact that there is a 50% divorce rate, they cannot even get the first one right.
Plural marriages in other cultures is degrading to women and just because they do not have any other option, does not make it right.

If you believe in equality of the sexes, then there should rightfully be one wife for one husband. If you are steeped in the old school of thought where the husband is the master and not a life partner for a woman, then there can be polygamy. In that case, I hope you are equally open to the idea of some rich and powerful women having multiple husbands (polyandry) too. It essentially depends on your outlook.

You probably are not married my friend. Its hard to handle one wife.

On serious note. Its not fair and right. You marry someone you love, and take a vow to spend rest of your life with that person. You share a bond with her, by bringing another wife, you are betraying her side of the bond. my two cents.

kids grow up less confused when they have one mom n one dad. kids who grow up in a secure environment are likely to do better too.
because if a man can have more than one wife, equal rights tells us a woman should be able to have more than one husband..and that would lead to a very confusing mess in society!

because Jehovah said one man & one woman, is a marriage legal in law, that's mans law & gods law.
So why dispute God?
monogamy is to be celebrated not discounted out of greed for a man to have many wives, let alone more than one mother-in-law!
