How can murdering and stealing someone else's land be somehow more acceptible than illegally crossing the Mexcian border? I'm all for immigration laws, but I find it to be unacceptable that the majority of people who are so passionate about our immigration laws want to keep the Mexicans (but noone else) from crossing our borders when the two main states that they're emigrating to (California and Mexico) were once theirs. I say the least we can do is not be jerks about it and let them in since they had the land rightfully before it was taken from them, just as so much of this country was taken from the Native-Americans. Everyone in the annti-immigration mob (and a mob is exactly what they are) seems to either have conveniently forgotten that or never cared int he first place.

Herra- How convenient for you to parrot the old, tired "history is bunk" argument. That way all you have to do is regurgitate what someone else said instead of thinking for yourself, which you're probably too stupid to do anyway.

nycposer- Interesting that you should bring up the subject of our economy, because it would be in a much different shape without all the cheap labor that illegal immigrants are providing.

b.c. - I see that you're more interested in what your assumptions of what I mean than what I actually mean. I don't by a long shot think that immigrants shouldn't have to enter legally, but rather that we need to eliminate all the needless red tape from the legal process of immigration so that immigrants have more incentive to come here legally. We also need to stop using them as scapegoats just because they're not white and crack down as hard (or harder) on the people in this country who are employing them, because without employment they have very little incentive to keep coming back.

This is a tough issue everywhere you look. Everyone is looking for a place where the grass looks greener.
Half a millennium ago Europeans were taking over lands that were not theirs, looting and killing the peaceful dwellers in the name of God and "evangelizing" with the sword in hand from Rio Grande all the way to the Patagonia and the Caribbean Islands in between. The British and Spanish Empires got hold of what they could. Then the French, Dutch and Portuguese came to see if they could get their share as well.
Historic facts are soon forgotten but history has a way of giving the aggressors a taste of their own medicine. Both the U.S. of A. and European countries (Spain, Italy and France) are being swarmed by immigrants looking for a better way of living (surviving is more adequate) due to unfavorable social, economic and political situations of their countries of origin.
The solutions are difficult decisions to be made... Some people (immigrants) will be favored and others will not.

Those people who came here from Europe did so to a country that was NOT united in any way, shape or form. There were some indigenous people living here but they were of many different tribes, languages and cultures. There was no united country with a specific set of laws that any of the Europeans would be breaking simply by coming here. The indigenous people couldn't defend their own tribes let alone unite to defend this country. It was only the Americans who were able to successfully remove the English, French and Spanish to unite this country from the Atlantic to the Pacific and from the Canadian border to the Mexican border. Once we established this country as the United States of America and built it with a Constitution, Bill of Rights and set of laws and DEFEND it successfully against all aggressors, were we able to establish immigration laws. The indigenous people had their chance and they blew it big time. The Mexicans had their chance to hold onto California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas and they also blew it big time. They can hardly hope to get these states back simply by coming back here illegally.

First of all, they are NOT just immigrating to Mexico and California, they are all over the USA and in Large numbers. It is not the Legal Immigrants that the fuss is over but the "Illegal "whom do not pay Taxes or into Social Security but reap the benefits that Americans have worked so hard for.

Uh, and you realize their goal is to stick past their lifestyles-span HOW? I believe that men and women who come right here to paintings, and are operating, must be equipped to take action legally. If it have been authorized to return right here and paintings, there would not be a trouble. For all who surprise why now we have been speaking approximately unlawful immigration for a long time, however it is not ever enforced -- the motive it is not enforced is the trade-house owners who benefit from unlawful exertions are those who persuade the goverment not to implement the legislation, pleading they might be positioned into chapter 11. Besides, we might now not be equipped to have the funds for to devour greater than a few instances per week have been it now not for the low priced exertions that produces such a lot of our meals.

I think we should do more then that . I think every American should share their lives and homes with illegals , invite them to come home with you and live .
Share your job with them and take them to Church with you .
Maybe give them access to your bank accounts and by all means get them a cell phone and a credit card to use as they like , of course .
And while you are giving your new family members a new way of life , make sure you let them have your Social Security # so they can receive your benefits .
You and your family will learn Spanish so you can communicate and understand when they tell you how they want the laws of this country to read .
If your lucky they might help you get a job that the illegals won't do . Now is that your idea of a perfect
country ?
Then I hope you get your wish and enjoy living in it , because it won't be America !!!
Your not an American or you wouldn't be trying to give this country away !!!!

The founders of this nation were settlers. That was before there was a government with rules and laws. Americans bash illegal aliens because they are law breakers! YES THEY ARE ALIENS, THEY ARE NOT IMMIGRANTS, THEY ARE CRIMINALS BECAUSE THEY BROKE THE LAW BY ENTERING ILLEGALLY....GOT IT YET? Maybe we should start tattooing illegals so we can easily pull them out of the crowds and dispose of them. Go back to your 3rd world country because that is all you deserve.

I completely agree with you! I do not recall reading anything in the history books about how the first immigrants showed their passports/visas to the Native Americans. They came here illegally and did not care to disrupt the lives of the Natives. So I think its just karma, and besides this land doesn't belong to anyone! It's all borrowed while you live, after your dead, how did you live you're life? What does it matter then? It doesn't so I say carpe diem! Also, dont remember anything in the bible about any passports, strange. Or have we found the passports with which Jesus, and apostles traveled with?? Maybe we have and I am the dumb-dumb.

I did not commit murder or steal any land I was born here and pay for land like everyone else, I am 100% all American and I think we (the citizens) have a right to decide how many people per year get in and that only those of legal status should be allowed to stay. We (the citizens) should get to decide how immigration (legal or illegal) hurt the social structure of our country and put a stop to it if need be.
If every person had the right to decide where their tax dollars went I would level a bet that MOST would not want ANY of their money to go to illegal immigrants who have absolutely no respect for this country, its laws OR its taxpayers. We have a legal process and most legal immigrants are welcomed with open arms. We are very generous with the amount we let into the US annually, we have laws, is it to much to ask that they are obeyed?

I know a little Church. Most the people there (Not many) have been in that Church since it started. They got a new preacher and he wanted to make the church grow. It was crazy, people were literally standing up in the church arguing and visitors such as myself, were like thinking, "Get me out of here"!
Later I thought of what was going on. The regular people had their comfort zone and change made them feel threatened. So, they responded. This even happens in big business. A good manager knows you not come in making changes too quickly. You have to slowly bring about change as people feel comfortable. There are many people wanting to come to America and are following the proper procedure. They are waiting on paper work etc. willing to do this the right way. People not have a problem with this as it a slow steady process. But, people see the illegal immigration as a mass invasion and react as they feel threatened in work and taxes that will pay for this.
Just an opinion, not say I 100% correct.

Oh yeah a millions of poor people pretty much feeding off the US like cockroaches is a GREAT thing. The Native Americans lost their land, the Mexicans lost their territory, losing territory in war sounded like a common thing in history books. This is a great country and I don't want to see it go down the toilet like our neighbors to the south.
