It depends on the culture. To the WWII Japanese, death was better to dishonor. To the pragmatic survivor, dishonor is better than death.

Dishonor is a high class word for pride,Its better to die by helping someone with no recognition and give all of the glory to Jesus .Now that is what you call a real hero.
