El nino occurs when the waters in the Pacific Ocean are unusually warm . . . This phenomenon does occur naturally every few years..... People are so concerned with it, thinking that El Nino a product of global warming, but El Nino has been happening since the Earth has been in existence.... The warm air, (from the warm water) is then carried by the wind, thus affecting different sections of land. . . (That's why El Nino "causes" fires and so forth). It doesnt really cause them though, it just redirects the weather meant for somewhere else....
