The keyless entry fob was for my dad's old 1999 subaru, and he still has the key fob for it, and I was wondering if I could somehow program it to my 97 nissan maxima. Would I have to reset the key fob before programming it? Someone help?

Frequency the remote brodcasts is different. Probably won't work. However "Code Alarm" built the keyless system. There are universal remotes I hear but have never tried them on a Nissan.

Won't work, but there are always a bunch of Maxima remotes for sale (cheap) in the Classifieds section at http://www.MaximaClub.org - I'd have a look there.
