I would have to say chihuahuas cause i have two in a one bedroom apt and they are perfectly happy with getting in one walk and then playing the rest of the time in the apt . I would definately say chihuahuas.

The breeds in the AKC (American Kennel Club) Toy Group are worth a try. Most apartments don't allow pets over 30 lbs, if they do at all. Most of the Toy breeds in dog shows cannot exceed even seven pounds according to their individual breed standards. The Daschunds, Corgis (Both varieties), Shetland Sheepdogs, Cocker Spaniels, and others are all reccomended. Some rare breeds are also worth a shot. Swedish Vallhunds are rare dogs; in World War 2 they almost went extinct. Their numbers are rising however; you may be able to find a breeder of these little 'Dogs of the Vikings' in your area. Mexican Hairless, Bolongese, and other rare breeds may be your answer. By the way, Vallhunds can weigh between 25-35 pounds so choose a smaller female, if possible.

Any small short haired dog should be good. There are several larger breeds compatable with apt life, but they will need to be walked several times a day.
We have two acres and a Boston Terrier and a Chihuahua. Also a large collie/chow mix that lives outdoors mostly, but comes in at night and in bad weather. He's great indoors but he sheds alot.
Also consider what size dogs the apartments will accept.
Good luck.

I lived in an apartment with my miniature dachshund before moving into a house and she was happy, we walked everyday though and I definitely prefer having a yard.

One thing that does make a difference is that she is a very socialized dog, if your dog lives in an apartment you would want to make sure that you teach your dogs social skills.

this depends 100% on your lifestyle. if you don't plan on having any time to take the dog outside, get a cat. but if you plan on going on a jog 5 days a week, then you can get just about any breed. I had a german shepperd in my apartment, but we went to the dog park every day and she was a very happy dog. she is happier now that we have a yard, but then again, so am I.

A cavalier king charles spaniel, no doubt, they sleep about 18 hours out of 24, need to walk about 1/2 hour a day and are very quiet. Good luck

A boston terrier is a great apartment dog, so is a westie or welsh corgi.
