if the room is empty then not long but longer if you shifting furnoiture about

I'm not sure how long regular carpet would take, but I would suggest those carpet squares. You can do yourself really fast. After all the furniture is removed, I would say you can do by your self in less than an hour in a room by yourself.

once you get the furniture out (and in an 8x8 room, that won't take long), an installer should be in and out in less than an hour.This includes stretching and laying the carpet down.

it shouldn't take long, i had blokes fit my carpets in 15min. That was inc underlay. Providing you have all the right tools.

try fittin it and find out lol
guess it will depend on if you are gettin a carpet fitter in to do it or you will be doing it yourself.
