this & that bad thing?
How is she/he going to defend him/her self?

What if that Mormon had been a Mormon for only one year and hadn't done all person could do yet to attain salvation?

(As a Christian I have already asked myself what I would do.)

Fortunately for Mormons, Christ knows their hearts. The ones who truly love Jesus but have been misled , I think will be saved. The ones who put their trust in Gordon Hinkley and Joseph Smith and discount the Bible are surely lost. Pray for them.

It's impossible to attain perfection in this lifetime. We do the best we can and lean on God's mercy.

What is it you think we have to do before we can be saved? I mean, I was taught that salvation happens when you accept Christ. After that, it's exaltation. And let's say you decide to be baptized, but on the way to church, you get hit by a drunk driver and you are killed. Well, NOW what are you gonna do?

That's what vicarious baptism is for. Or if you die before you can go to the temple, others can do it for you.

Also, I don't think that the devil is going to be helping judge people.

Is your question based on the idea that a Mormon is de facto a sinner or what do Mormons believe about the Judgment Day?

In the first case, I suggest you read the Book of Mormon and pray about its truthfulness.

In the second case, Mormons believe that they can repent and be forgiven if they truly change their ways and their hearts. This basic understanding of the Atonement and Jesus' role as our advocate applies in this case.

I thought the devil was the 'bad guy', so appearing next to, and even in conjunction with, Christ would appear that he's been working in cahoots with God all along. Or is the devil a paid 'informant'? Can we mention that the devil has a history of lying and deception, and therefore an unreliable witness?

Are we going to need an attorney in the afterlife?

The religion or Church that you belong to will not determine "salvation". The person you become, whether good or bad is what ultimately judges you as a human being. LIfe is a process of learning. We all make mistakes and are imperfect. The reason for this life is to become better. More compassionate, understanding, kind, patient. To reform ourselves to our original state of perfection.

In the Mormon church the devil will not be there for your judgement day. Christ will judge us.
When judgement day comes I figure there will not be much to say because God knows what we did and why we did everything.

Why would the devil accuse any one of anything? It isn't he who sits at the judgement seat but it is Christ who gives this judgement. All men and women will answer for their sins. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believe this as well. That is why we are taught that repentance is a daily and ongoing process. We know that we need The Savior and His atoning sacrifice. With out it we are all lost.
Lastly what "this & that bad thing" are you referring too? Please email me if you'd like I'm curious to know exactly what you think my religion teaches or believes.
I love this Church... in fact I know it is the ONLY church that is led by Jesus today, just as it was during His life on Earth.

Probably the same thing as someone who is willing to try and place themselves in the seat of judgment over others. Only God can know another's heart, dear, and you ought to spend more time walking your own road than trying to judge how another walks his.

Instead of focusing on "others," how about doing some research on the history of your own religion. I've heard it said that "real" Christians don't point fingers, but then I haven't met many "real" Christians.

I am still waiting for the mormon church to call everyone to their garden of eden, in missouri, for the second coming, but I know it won't happen because then the church won't make money. LOL
