I believe we should redeploy. Get out of the line of fire BUT not leave the region entirely.

Our foreign policy for years has led to the level of hatred. Granted I do not believe it should justify the attacks but in their minds they have lost more lives prior to the attacks on us based on our messed up foreign policy than we actually realize.
We along with the UK destabilized Iran in 1953 by undermining and overthrowing a democratically elected goverment. The estimated death toll was 15,000-20,000 people.
We did the same things in Haiti and a lot of South American nations.
We have supported a repressive government in Saudi Arabia, a government which also had provided funds to Al Qaeda. How come we did not invade them as well?
Do you even realize that some of these same countries you want to squeeze that export oil also holds some of our exploding debt, the money that this current adminstration is borrowing? They hold at of March 2007 $113 BILLION of our debt.
People here are under the mistaken impression that they can squeeze other countries in the Mid East the way Iraq did. I guess you don't really understand world politics. IF we decide to jackboot our way through the Middle East ( with what soldiers considering we don't have enough right now to do what we need to do) and piss off other countries like China, and Japan who between the 2 of them hold $1 TRILLION dollars of our debt and they decide to call it in, what would happen to this nation?
