all o-rings new. when I evacuate the system, I hear a leak between the pipe and accumulator. So I step up the size on the o-rings there. still leaking.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hobbabob, I am using Volvo parts made in Europe. I was wrong about the o-rings, so I went back to the originals (also Volvo's). I added an extra to meet the lip of the accumulators pipe. Now I am pulling a good vacuum, but I can't seat the spring in the quick connect.

Vacuum did not hold, but that junction is definitely the source of the leak. I am going to spring for the mega assortment of o-rings and see if I can't get a good seal.

so, went back to the old o-rings, oiled them heavily, and "jiggled" the connection to get a good seal.

i can honestly say that i have never had or heared of this happening. have you tried putting a little 134a in and soaking down the suspected area with a soapy-water solution? the resulting bubbles wont lie. on an early 850 several years ago i had a pipe near the compressor [i believe high side] that had lots of stress cracks in it. [viberation probabley caused this or that batch of metal [aluminium] wasn't up to standards]
but it was only the one car. if you are using aftermarket parts made in a third world country i suppose that could be the problem. please let me know what you find
