i am 14 and i seem to be tired all of the time, i can wake up and 2 hours later i will be really tired again....it is really starting to annoy me now....also my body temperature keeps going up and down...one minute i am cold and the next im boiling! i must admit that i havn't been getting a large amount of sleep lately, and have never been the best sleeper around, but i have never felt quite so bad..... i usually feel sick in the mornings and have found that if i have a shower when i get up (between 6-7) i feel really dizzy and sometimes end up heaving....i dnt have any medical problems as far as i am aware, except a problem with my back...i am also under a lot of stress at the moment, with exams, family problems, and a friend being wuite close to death...im not sure if that has anything to do with it.....i have an older sister, 16, whom i do not get along with at all, since a year ago, and my parents seem to be sideing her way, any suggestions will be appriciated

yes it sounds much like anemia jo is rite . and there are also conditions that cause similar reactions. could be any thing . and stress don't help get tested for anemia , diabetes ,and more every one has different reactions to every thing its hard to pen point it, but if you don't go in and it is a condition It could get much worse so go in get checked .my friend waited and didn't know she had a condition and had a diabetic sizer could have went in a coma or died . just get checked the worse thing they can do is save your life or tell you you are fine is that so bad? It may be nothing but get it checked be safe. and if you are filling depressed talk to some one don't hold it in, you have to let ppl know how you feel .it may make you feel better.I'm sorry you are having a hard time . but if you don't take care of you there is no way you can deal with these things in your life .

GOOD Luck take care . get to the Dr

I think you need to talk to your parents and tell them your symptoms. If you were my daughter, I would call the Dr.'s as soon as possible. These are not normal "symptoms" of someone stressed out, I think that there is more to it. It could be as simple as a virus to mononucleosis to a thyroid problem. I am sorry for your troubles with your Sister, those are not uncommon at your age. Sometimes we just have to suck it up and let go. As for a friend near death, been there, thats a tough one, take the time to tell your friend just what an impact they have made on your life. Finals week is STRESSFUL, but after reading all of this, for 14 years old, you really sound like you are quite intelligent, you are very well written. I am quite sure you are going to take the time to study and be prepared, so I am sure you will do just fine. PLEASE - talk to your parents about your medical symptoms though, I think they need to be addressed. Good luck with everything!!

I just saw your additional comments, no one really enjoys going to the dr.s, but it is a necessary evil. Lets assume that this is something very serious, do you want to put your friends and family thru what you are going thru with a good friend near death? Of course not. You are about to enter the world of adulthood, where you learn that if you don't take care of you, no-one else will. So go now, while you have your parents to help you!!

OK - So Mom and Dad seem to be lacking compassion when it comes to you. I don't want to slam your parents, because for the most part, most parents do the best that they can or know to at the time. However, yours seem to not be taking you seriously, and thats just not right. So, lets try another route. What about school? Do you have a nurse at the school that you can go to? Alot of times, parents get tired of hearing about their kids "troubles" and tune them out. If you were to go to the school nurse, guidance counselor, princiapal, teacher, any adult there, maybe they could call your parents and say "hey, I have noticed that your daughter doesn't seem to be feeling real well lately, is there something going on?" Maybe having someone else bring it to their attention might help. These are just suggestions Honey, It's the only way any of us can even try to help you right now.

Probably nothing at all - just a slight cold. The changes you mentioned are minimal - not enough to qualify for a fever so your mother is right there. BY the way if you are ovulating that results in a higher temperature as well. so relax Unless it's over a hundred fluctuations like the ones you mentioned are normal especially since you seem to have a cold.

Have you talked to your parents about how you are feeling. My guess would be you are having depression and/or anxiety issues from the stress. This can make your immune system weak as well since you are not getting enough sleep. You need to see a doctor to determine if it is a physical or mental issue and to get some help. Good-luck!

It could be stress. You say you hate doctors, most of us don't like going to the doc but occassionaly you have no choice, this is one of those times. Go and get checked out and if there's nothing physicaly wrong you will be under less stress and then you can work on your other problems.
Take care

You sound like you have an infection and the doctor is exactly who you need to see. I wouldn't wait on it either because it sounds like you're having chills and fever. Depending upon what it is, it could be serious. Never play with your health even though seeing a doctor is uncomfortable.

Considering the age, the hormonal changes in your body and the stress are causing you these problems. If the problem persists, pl. tell your parents and let them take you to a doctor.

In the mean time, learn to do some deep breathing and learn to relax. Try to make peace with your sister ( at least don't try to argue with her) and try to be at peace with yourself. My blessings to you.

My sister sometimes feels like that, though. I think you should get LOTS of sleep, eat a LOT, and exercise a LOT. If after a week you still feel like this, you should go see a doctor and he/she your story. I hope I helped!

i used to have a problem similar to this
theres a few options
anemia -- (lack of iron) try eating more meat
hyperglicemia....i think -- (low blood sugar) eat more long term carbs, like whole wheats and less sugar
mono -- mono has several of the same symptoms, if theres any chance that you might have caught this virus, tell ur parents and get a doc appointment
