I have some glasses and I want to use the clear lenses. How can I remove the frame manufacturers logo? Is there a solvent or chemical I can use that won't harm the lenses? Thanks

They kinda screw you with the logo. The chemicals that remove it usually cause the lenses to fog where the logo was. You can try rubbing alchool on a q-tip. But be careful b/c those lenses are not safe to wear. They are pretty much recycled two-liters, and if you get hit in the face can split or scatter into your eye. That's why most places remove them when you purchase only the frame. You can have Plano non-Rx lenses put in for about $50. They will be safe and look much better then the junk that's in them.

Depending on the type of logo and how cheap the demos are, denatured alcohol usually works. You have to be careful - it can sometimes smear or turn the lenses opaque. That is one of the best ways I have found through the years. On occassion rubbing alcohol will work without discoloration, too. I've found that the more expensive manufacturers logos are harder to remove without damaging the lenses.

Try using a bit with a q-tip on one corner of the logo before doing the whole thing. If this doesn't work out you can have plano lenses made for under 30.00 at most opticals.

If the logo is not made of paper and is printed with some ink, it should not obstruct your vision much. So, you can leave it without problem. Else, use a good organic solvent. The first answer gave you a good advice.
