I am getting married with a solitaire engagement ring. How do I exchange the bands, do I still wear my engagement ring and just slip on the enhancer at the ceremony or the solitaire and the enhancer are now one ring? Do the bride/groom wedding bands necessarily have to match? Thanks for your answer.

Wedding Band Enhancers

Yes, your enhancer/wrap can be used as a wedding band.
No, the bride and groom rings do not need to match...they should fit the individual style of the person who is wearing them.

As for the ceremony: If your enhancer is a wrap (like mine) you may want to have the best man hold the engagement ring and the wrap together, and you can go without a ring down the aisle. Your hands will be hidden by your bouquet anyway. Then, when your husband-to-be places the rings on your finger, he will put them on with the wedding band sliding on first, the engagement ring to the outside. This is traditionally so the wedding band (enhancer in your case) is closest to the heart. SInce the wrap and engagement ring are going on at the same time, there will be no need to adjust them and they will be a complete set for the first time.

Wear your engagement ring on the right hand until after the ceremony. Yes, you can use an enhancer as your wedding band and no your rings do not have to match. It's what both of you like.

First off...your bands do not have to match.

I would leave your solitaire on and slip the enhancer on over it. Later on you can switch it around so the enhancer is "closest to your heart" That's how you're suppose to wear your wedding band.

I have a traditional wedding band....I put my engagement ring on my right hand during the ceremony...and my husband slipped on my wedding band. After we walked out i moved the engagement ring over to the left hand.

later on if you choose you can have the solitaire and enhancer soldered together...to keep the solitaire from moving. sometimes they slip out or jiggle around.

good luck and congratulations

Put the engagement ring on your right hand during the ceremony, if it fits. If not, wear the engagement ring as normal and slip the enhancer (your wedding band) on after it. Don't try to straighten it during the ceremony. The chances of dropping it are huge. As soon as you leave the ceremony, fix it.

No, the rings do not have to match. Most men know what they want and it is usually not exactly like what we have. I wear platinum w/ diamonds and my husband wanted a yellow gold Turkish puzzle ring.

Yes I would use the enhancer as the wedding band, and no the rings of the bride and groom don't have to match. They should suit the individual wearers and as they are not the same, the rings don't have to be either.

wife sells jewelry - she said take off both rings for the ceremony and put them on as one during the exchanging of the rings - its less complicated. no they don't have to match at all - not even color of gold. she also said she tells customers NOT to solder the rings together until the wedding is over. not to say it will happen but she thinks its better to keep them separate until you know the wedding WILL take place without any objections. congrats and good luck!

there really is no rules on what you have to wear for your wedding ring..i wore my engagement ring to the wedding and it fit into another ring (center)..i just took off the one and fit it into the other as he slipped on my finger..and your husbands ring does not have to match..ever..most men due to there jobs might not wear it after the wedding ..except special outings...congrats

Yes, of course. Some sets just don't lend themselves to having a different band. But don't solder them together til after you are married.
