Oh for goodness sakes, wear some old clothes...the top layer of skin will shed some excess ink - did you wash it? If not, do so. Did the artist tell you what to put on it? Sometimes if you put too much on you will notice even more color going into your clothes. It should only be a very thin veil and not look greasy at all.

NEVER use plastic wraps.

No, you should never cover a tattoo as the ink will get pulled out and this can make it look patchy, you need to let the air get to it so try and wear loose clothes for a couple of days after getting a tattoo.

You should not cover it up, it is natural for a small amount of the ink to come off but should only last a day or two and it will peel a bit as it heals....wash gently with a mild soap, and pat, never rub dry....coat twice a day with a thin layer of A & D ointment like you would use on a baby's bum, honest, it will take about two weeks for it to heal, also do not expose it to sun if you are going to be in the sun especially this summer while it is fresh make sure and use at least a sunblock of 15 spf nothing lower it will help prevent fading. If you keep having problems call the artist who did it and tell them your concerns, they will quickly tell you what to do and put you mind at ease

hi my hubby is a tattooist and you really should only cover it for a couple of hours after getting it done. Then wash it with a mild antiseptic soap or just a really mild soap and apply just one really thin coat of savlon, then use vaseline intensive care cream NOT VASELINE!! your tattoo needs to breathe and it is perfectly normal for your tattoo to scab and ink to come away so don't worry its just the healing process. If you really are worried go back to the tattooist and they should be pleased to advise you further, hope that helps xx

i got mine done by a highly respected pro, after he finished he stuck on a tissue held in place with surgical tape. he told me when i got home to wash it with nothing but warm water, and not to pick the scab. i didnt sufffer from any leakage. i dont think what your experiencing is normal. if needs be go to the A&E. i suffered no bleeding or leakage the leakage you describe could be pus from infection. be on the safe side get it checked out. by the way did the tatooist even bother to check your id to make sure you were over 18?. if he/she didnt and your not 18 then theres your problem. shoddy work and scam artists. remember a tattooist has to be licensed and checked upon.

I've never had a tattoo leak at all and usually uncover them after the first night.. Check back in with your artist to see what's going on.

You should be washing it with a pea size amount of soap three times a day and then applying ointment to keep the tat moist ... and yes ink is coming out with blood.

You DONOT want it to scab over it will some but if you keep ointment that the shop should have recommended on it then the scabbing will be minimized.
