Talking snakes?! do you know how silly you sound! You are from the western world most of you and you believe there was a talking snake!!!! Ha ha! Just stop and think about this crazy delusion for 1 minute of your life, think what it has you saying to intelligent rational adults! When you answer questions and talk about the bible as if it were just true because it is! This is what kids do when they cannot explain things! When will you get over this mental illness?

chocka69-I wouldn't say I was super intelligent as I don't believe in talking snakes! I think you'll find quite a lot of people who don't believe. Maybe not where you live but you will find them..

dhcandbw-The western world is known to be the developed world?Am I right or wrong? The western world is more forward thinking in terms of religion and susperstition-right or wrong? So what are you talking about? And by accusing people of being angry as they highlight your ludicrous delusions is tantamount to propaganda.

I actually struggle with the story of a talking serpent, just as much as I struggle with the idea of a donkey talking (that's also in the Bible). I don't know if these stories are only metaphors, or if maybe God suspended the laws of nature long enough to make them happen.
However, growing up, I did think that the Bible was only a book of fairy tales. I was actually convinced of this until a couple years ago, when I started really digging into the historical and archaeological evidence that supports the Bible.
Now, while some parts of the Bible may remain in doubt (worldwide flood, talking snake, Balaam and his donkey), I don't believe the entire thing should be dismissed.
I seriously take offense to the "mental illness" statement, when the fact of the matter is, there are MANY logical, rational, very intelligent people who believe in it.

Bet you didn't like that either did you? You see how easy it is to throw accusations and insults at another person?
To truly understand the "kid's story" you refer to, you must first do some research and study into the ENTIRE Bible. That may be hard for you to comprehend but all the answers you will ever need to ANY question are found in there.
What exactly did you mean when you said " you are from the western world..."? Is that another one of your hidden slams against other cultures? It shouldn't matter what part of the world we are from.
Just so you know, the crazy delusions I have had have ceased since I gave my life over to Jesus. Now things are starting to become clearer and make sense. I am a very rational and fairly intelligent adult and I see your mild attempt to provoke a brawl has worked with some people. I will discuss facts and have a sensible debate with any person who is willing to make sensible arguments. I will not carry on a conversation with an irrational, over-zealous, un-informed and misguided individual on a topic they know nothing about.

So you've never told your children a fable? You've never explored Greek mythology with them?
Read the bible as you wish. While I choose not to take it literally, I think that reading it with ones children is not a bad thing.
For someone who is attempting to sound intelligent, you really are not. Atheism does not equate with all out genius. Neither does hatred. JUST FYI.

Do I think snakes can talk................ no.
Do I think Donkeys can talk.......................no.
What I do believe is if the snake was satan in a different form then yes it could talk, and if God gave the ability to a donkey to speak well then yes for that moment I believe the donkey spoke to Balaam to get the point across that God was trying to make to him. People are stubborn, sometimes God has to use the unbelievable to get people's attention
