I saw a picture of a hamster with a massive tumour and it's just freaking me out.?

they are not as commen in hamsters as they are in rats and mice!!!

Its very common im afraid, so it is so important to check your hamster on a regular daily basis for any lumps or bumps. I have my hamster checked out by the vet every six months and she always checks for this. Also for general health, check your hamsters eyes, teeth, ears, and for hair loss. Always make sure your hamster is eating and drinking as normal, and going to the toilet normally. If you are ever unsure about anything, dont be afraid to take your hamster to the vets, even if its just for a standard check up like I do.

Well don't let a picture freak you out! They can happen, but they're not as common as tumours of mice and rats. So no point in panicking!

You can stop your hamsters tumers (if he gets some) by giving him a look over every day. Like you, I probibally would freak out also if a saw a hameter or guinea pig (I own 2 :) ) picture with a tumer on it.

they are commen 2 out of 3 of my hamsters died of a tumer. I'm sorry to say this but if they get a tumer they die within 2 month

COnsidering how many hamsters get used in medical research, tumors are probably very common.
