Rest in Peace my brothers and sisters.

Heroes must be remembered and glorified since they served their country well.

...and which nation would that be? We are from many nations here. My appaulogies, but what is so particularly different about this weekend? Do you have a special remembrance day today?Everyday can be remembrance day. Our designated day is in November in Canada. I say this sincerely, I am not being flippent. People are dying quite frequently right now in regards to wars being faught on this planet! Did you loose someone you know, is this an aniversary of someones death? I just would like to know. Really.

I may safely assume you speak of the United States.

Yes, having lost loved ones, having had family members and inlaws in the military, and in a general caring for all life, prayers for all those of all lands, that have gone before us, the civilians striving to save their loved ones and countries too.

Our current Prime MInister likes to play mind games with our people by promoting the idea that if we don't support his policies on Iraq that we don't supporet our troops over there! Such BS!!!!!! We always support our people and policy is not the fault of the troops.

Every soldier is responsible for how they handle themselves in any given situatiomn. Those that abuse their station deserve to be held accountable. Healing please! Those that are just following orders, and I recognised that those orders are occassionally imoral and in poor judgement, deserve our emotional support and we must keep an open mind as to what each individuals story is.

It isn't easy being a soldier! Ours are not drafted, in Canada, we have only experienced the draft once in our history. A blessing! In general, our soldiers join out of personal choice. That makes a difference. I feel very sorry for those forced into service. I wonder sometimes about all this...no answer for you. Take care. Isee here there is some specific ceremony. Well these are important acknowledgments and people do need this, the families and veterans more than anyone. human being to human being, blessings.

To have war speakes of failure not on the part of those who meet in that nightmare, but of those who put them there.

Peace and love to all.

Yes, I will be thinking of those who gave their lives so the Country could be Born and those who gave their lives to keep the Country the Way we wanted to keep it! So many have lost their lives since we started that is is hard for some people to believe that so many have died so that we can remain as we were meant to be! FREE! Also there are those who did not die in the War they fought but did put their time in the war also to keep us FREE. Me and my Wife travel to a certain Cemetery Every Memorial Day Weekend and find out that her Grandfather, who served in WWI and his Son, her Father, who served in the Korean War are ones who do not get the Flags placed with them!! Now all around them, others who served do get a Flag! So these are two we do not forget and we do not do it just because they are Family! They are Veterans as are the rest who get the Flags and should be remembered for the Time they spent to keep us FREE! The one big thing about Memorial Day Weekend is: They that did give their lives are not forgotten! The Flag does still fly and the Country and the People are still FREE! All of us who live here are happy that because of them, this is what we see!!!

Anyone who fought for what they believed in or for their country is a hero in my point of view and I shall therefore think fondly of them whether they are alive or dead. I am fortunate enough not to have lost a relative or friend through conflict and I hope I never will so I cant even begin to understand how you feel Im very sorry.

Not a day goes by that I do not express my gratitude for having been born in this country because I value my freedom. I know that my freedom was bought by the sacrifices, bravery, and unselfish acts of the people in the military. I honor the memory of those who gave their lives for us, and I always support our troops, whether or not I may agree with the politicians who send them off to fight. To all you veterans out there and to the families of vets -- THANK YOU for my freedom!

You betch ya. If not for those guys we would not have the freedom to think about them or grill with our family's. I sure hope this war ends soon so those who are there fighting for our freedom can come home to their familys. I love those guys and this country and all that they stand for.

Thank you for your sacrifice to our great country too.
