Jesus taught us to love God with all our hearts, all our minds, all our souls, and all our strength, and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
There is no question that a lot of Christians over the past 2000 years have committed horrible atrocities, but our religion does not teach us to commit atrocities. We can repent, turn back to God, and ask our neighbors and God to forgive us.
Muslims believe the Koran is the exact, word-for-word dictate of God, and Chapter ("Surah") 9 says to kill the unbelievers. Muhammad himself led numerous battles -- unprovoked attacks against his neighbors.
How can you repent and turn back to God if your scripture tells you to kill and the founder of your religion does exactly that?

I think you need to get your facts straight.
Islam is not a violent religion - the Koran does not promote violence in any way. People like to use religion as an excuse to do whatever they want, it p*sses me off.
People like to take random excerpts from the bible as well and base whole religions on it - why can't they use they message as a whole? How can they pick and choose and just ignore parts of it like that?
I do believe in God, but I have my own ideas. I wish everyone else would do this - I don't like religion, because humans just can't handle it. There isn't a religion in history that hasn't been warped into something it's not - religion isn't the problem, what people do with it IS.

Let me tell you what is dumb-blind faith..People accuse religious people to be blind, whereas, they themselves believe such stuff without even bothering to see properly, that this is nothing but pure lies..do you honestly think that if islam were such a ''brutal'' religion, it would be one of the fastes growing religion,in terms of conversion?why would people be screaaming that islam is a peace-loving religion?if it were,as you say, such a violent religion, don't you think that it would be easier for them to leave it(and before you start blabbering about death threats, why would they ever support a religion they are against..?)
The most important thing right now,is for non-muslims to study open-mindedly more about islam, and for muslims to raise their voice a bit more, such that they unite in this ''War against Terrorism''.

Dear Messenger: The fact that most Christians and Islam are now wearing happy faces and speaking Love, Love, Love, Love, does not change the fact that they were deluded in the past, and are betraying with a kiss today.
God reorients you to the truth in a Bible code at www.revelado.org

actually, ive read and studied (at university) both islam and christianity.
and the bible is actually much more violent than the koran. the BTW, the bible, also says multiple times that all non believers must be killed, including your friends and family (just for example: Exodus 22:19, 2 Chronicles 15:12-13, Zechariah 13:3, Deuteronomy 13:13-19) - there are over 50 references to this.
islam is considered to be a violent religion by christians because it is an opposing religion. in turn, christianity is considered violent by muslims. it works both ways.
islam also has a lot of extremeists in the news at the moment - its the hot topic of the decade. this doesnt mean that all muslims are like this (they definitely are not), and it doesnt mean that christian extremeists are rare (because they are actually just as common).
just like any other religion, there are groups within islam that interpret the koran in weird ways. they are the minority who make a louder statement than the majority. thats all.

First of all, Christianity didn't change, its followers did! Thus, Islam isn't the problem, the culture of its followers is. The problem is that many "Islamic" cultures have been oppressed, leading to anger and resentment, which leads to violence.
Don't blame the religion, blame the people.

The reason why Christians have evolved as you say, is simply because they lost power.
Countries where Christianity was predominant in other times, are now SECULAR.
In the Middle Ages (and over), the Christian Church commited one thousand and one atrocities in the name of religion.
Now they no longer dictate the rules, and are obliged to conform to the state laws.
And in order not to lose followers, they now just focus on the most inspirational parts of the Bible.

I'll tell u why...........It's because Christan's keep renewing the DAMN bible, to keep it up to date with the modern world, this indicates stupidity. Religion is not fashion, every month a new trend comes out! I've tried reading the bible, but i couldn't continue, its full of contradictions and half the stuff in there doesn't even make sense. Where as Muslims have faith and try to follow every rule our Prophet (PBUH) taught us......... I thank god everyday that i wasn't born a Christan or any other religion!!!! I'm a Muslim and im PROUD OF IT!
