forgive my ignorence sempais, but what is that bathrobe looking thing (and long skirt at the bottome) that samurais wear? I do karate during school (in college) and go to the dojo for weapons training. After that we have batto (art of cutting) and all the teachers wear that dress thing. i want to get one so i can wear it and use it during tournaments. also, what about sandels? where can i get all this stuff? will ebay work out?

You are referring to a hakama which is actaully pants with very large leg openings so it looks like a skirt but it actually has two legs. They wear that to help cover the way their feet are positioned and the slight changes in balance when they execute techniques.

the whole of the outfit is called a Kamishimo, it consist of a Hakama bottom-Kataginu vest- kimono top with a short arm sleeve that stops at the elbow. hope this helps
