I agree with angel of death almost completely, besides saying Israel is insane.. There are rockets fired into Israel daily!! If ten rockets per day were hitting American cities, how would America respond? Diplomatically? i highly doubt it, and I think that Hamas deserves everything they get, plus more. Israel has the right to defend it itself....Personally, I disagree with giving away the land and I do not think that it has benefited Israelis

Any concession that Israel makes is only going to make it less safe,if it gives the Palestinians a larger area from which to plan and launch attacks. I personally think both sides are a little insane, but that said at least the Israelis can be reasoned with, even if they act unfairly at times. The Palestinians on the other hand do not want peace, unless that peace involves the destruction of Israel, they are clearly of the belief that they would rather kill everybody than make peace with Israel, otherwise this conflict would have ended decades ago.

well it was a give and take,
On the one hand with Israel still on the ground in Gaza, the IDF and Israeli civilians were in a direct line of fire from Palestinians.
Pulling out of Gaza did reduce the risk on that side.
On the other hand it focused groups like Hammas to overcome the physical barrier between Gaza and Israel by launching rockets at civilian centers inside Israel.
If Israel can find a way to reduce these rocket attacks, either by military or diplomatic measures, then its clear getting out of Gaza increased Israeli safety.
If they cannot do that then really nothing has changed, except the means of how attacks are done.
