A) Joseph is NOT a patriarch.

B) Abraham was promised by God to be a patriarch, ie, father of a nation. Isaac also got that promise. And Jacob fulfilled it through his 12 sons. Joseph was just another of those sons.

C) Technically Sarah and Rebecca, as the chief wives of Abraham and Isaac, respectively and the mothers of Isaac and Jacob respectively. Jacob's wives have no such claims as each of his 2 chief wives and their handmaidens shared 12 sons among them, none of them giving birth to all 12.

Is Joseph the same guy who was sold to the King or Pharoah? Well, he's only known as being married to Mary and being Jesus ' step-father. There isn't really much said about him in the Bible.
