you have electric lights and night lights on. Turn them off. No light at all. It is in his genetic makeup to sleep in the dark. I am not saying lock him in a dark room but, I am saying you are momma you must let him have light at sun up and put him in his bed at or a little after dark.

Get him a lot more physical exercise during the day to tire him. Create a bedtime ritual of always doing the same things. Give him warm milk to drink, as it has thingst that make people sleepy. Try changing his diet to include natural foods and no sugar, chocolate or sodas (which have caffeine). No TV at night, or try soothing videos. Get him a different bed if he doesn't like being high up, perhaps a futon. Refuse to talk to him after you ptu him to bed so you don't stimulate him. Make it safe for him to get up, like putting a gate on the door and childproofing his room. Then, if that fails, take him to the pediatrician and ask what to do.

He must be sleeping sometime......he can't be up all day and all night. Start a quiet routine near bedtime, a drink, warm bath, pj's and a story. Then put him into his OWN bed and leave him alone. Eventually, he will wind down. We did put a gate on my son's room for a while after he was in his toddler bed just in case he got up to wander in the night. He could toddle around his room, but not around the house.

That is a tough one. I have a two year old and he loves his toddler bed. When I put him in his room for the night he usually plays and just wears himself out and goes to sleep. If you haven't tried that I would talk to your doctor to see what you can do. I hope this situation gets better for you.

had the same problem, I put my girl in a play pen, then made her go to sleep. 3 nights of hell and me crying out side her bedroom. I also put her down a 7:30 and she sleeps to 6:45 -7:00 which is great!! then she naps at 1:00 -3:00 schedule. i love it now, it was worth the hell, it helps if you have someone to help! it is not to hard for them because the baby or child doesn't know how to pull their strings!! thought once you do get him there do not.....do not, deviate from the schedule, it takes one night to screw it up!! then your back to the 3 night of hell!!!
but don't worry, they do grow up fast!!!

Make him stay up in the day time no matter what. Then he'll sleep when you need him to sleep.

hehee that reminds me of my nephew.. well, maybe u are feeding him foods that give energy! my sister notices that whenever he eats chocolate (or in the early days, she eats chocolate and breastfeeds), her son sleeps much less! try to feed him energy-giving foods. make sure u still provide him great nurture. goodluck!
