Remembering things depends on the thing you are trying to remember.
For example, is that you forget people's names. I am bad at names. One trick is that when you meet people for the first time you should say their name. Eg, Oh, your name is John, nice to meet you John. So John, tell me, what do you do for a living.
If it is things like where you put your car keys or wallet, then it is a matter of organising yourself. Have a place for your keys and wallet. Then when you go to get them, you will find them.
Another one for me, is when I am going to an appointment I forget some of the things I should take. Partly because I am using concentrating on what I am going to say. So beforehand I will put everything I need together, so I can just grab it when the time comes.
There are a lot of other techniques as well. One way, is to do with levels of processing theory. The more we think about something the easier it is to remember. For example, if I want to learn some definitions for an exam I would not just repeat the words, but read it, then think about what it means, why it is so and guess what, I remember these things well. Because by thinking about it it passed into memory in a way that is easy to remember.
Other things include making lists, using online and mobile phone tools to remind yourself of things.
Finally, keep off the good weed, because that might really be your problem...dude ;-)
