If you are only eating 1000 every two days and haven't lost weight, you have a medical condition that will not change by further starving yourself. Please consider seeing your doctor and requesting tests for thyroid or anything else that may be the root of this. If you starve your body while you have a disorder you may make the problem worse, not to mention all of the negative health factors caused by starvation. This is not meant as a lecture, only to let you know that maybe you can change your weight by a hormone treatment instead of starvation... a much safer and more effective alternative if weight loss is truly the goal! Good luck :)

Okay sweetie, here is the thing. I am not going to lecture you or anything, but I just have to point something out to you.

The reason that you are too heavy now is because you are not eating ENOUGH!!!

I know, it sound strange, but it is true. I don't know how tall you are or anything, so I can't give you a real accurate amount of what you should have, but it is probably ideal to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500 to 2000 calories -- each and every day.

The thing is, if you only eat 1000 calories every two days, you are actually starving yourself. When your body does not get enough to eat, it saves everything it can get, because it thinks it will starve. Thus, you never lose weight, because it isn't getting enough calories to function.

I highly suggest looking it up (it can be found many places online) and finding out how many calories someone your age and height should be eating. Then try to eat this many calories each day, but make them really count. Eat good things like fruits and vegetable and lean meat and whole grains, etc.

It sounds crazy, but I bet you will start losing right away, even though you are eating more! Exercise will also help. Walk each day like at least 1 to 2 miles. At first if you are this heavy, it will be somewhat difficult, but just go as far as you can and try to increase it as you go along.

I am telling you -- seriously NOT lecturing, but I am telling you purging is not the answer. It will not make permanent results, except maybe permanent damage. It can be really, really hard on your organs and your teeth.

I swear, I am not judging you. Believe me, I know how you feel. I have been there. I was a VERY chunky teenager and am still struggling with these things. I am working at improving, but I know like I know like I know that it is really hard and really discouraging at times. Just keep trying and you will succeed. You really will.

This isn't a lecture, I'm just trying to give you the facts about the body here.

1000 calories... every 2 days??? If you don't have a disease, which you probably need to see about from your doctor, then it is probably due to:

1) Stress: makes your body produce the hormone cortisol, in short this pretty much makes your body store body fat. I'm sure you have a lot of stress right now in your life, especially about your weight. ... well, all the worrying is just making you put on more weight, you need to learn to love yourself like God loves you. That's what matters above all.

2) Lack of food: you said you only eat 1000 calories every 2 days... well, plainly, you just aren't eating enough. I know this sounds really weird, but it's true. When you don't eat enough, your body literally fears dying... even if you just don't eat for like 4 hours. And because it thinks it's starving it will do all it can to not die. Which means it will take all of those 1000 calories and turn them straight into fat. At the least, you should be eating 1000 calories a day. But spread it out, if you are trying to lose weight, you should eat 6 times a day to keep your metabolism up.

I know you probably didn't want to read any of that, but obviously this is a really big concern for you. If you aren't really set on this purging thing then email me, please, at "robertwazlavek@yahoo.com". I can make you a workout plan and a daily diet if you'd like. I promise you I'll do all I can to help if you let me. I'm not going to just sit here and lecture you and tell you what to do without helping you. Please email me.

If you are eating that little, you WON'T lose weight. When you don't eat enough (and you probably need more like 2000 or more just to lose weight), then your body goes into starvation mode. It overproduces enzymes that store your fat (prevent it from being rid of) and it breaks down the amino acids in your muscles for energy. So if you end up losing 10 pounds, 1 pound is fat and like 9 pounds in muscle. That's why people who are anorexic look so "deflated" and sorta "skinny-fat".

By purging you'll be providing your body with even less calories. You won't be puking out your fat and losing weight by doing that. All you do is make your body stay longer at the current state it is. Undereating is just as bad as overeating.

I never judge and that's why I post my answers objectively. Let me 1st tell you that when you do purge you lose all the acid in your stomach and as a result you develop metabolic alkalosis. Long term effects could eventually lead to malabsorption problems and not to mention gastrointestinal problems. If I were you I would maintain my diet of 1000kcal per day. and go for a 15 minute walk and nothing more than that. I am assuming you are conscious of your weight? Make sure your diet consist of 20% protein and 10% fat and the rest carbs. I have faith in you, YOU CAN DO IT. You don't want to develop diferent gastrointestinal conditions believe me. I have a slugish liver and its no fun.

Do you want dentures? If you purge, you will rot out your teeth. Ask any dentist what exposing your teeth to stomache acid does, they'll tell you. You have got to get to a doctor, because if you are eating 1,000 calories every two days and weigh 272 pounds, there is something terribly wrong. You may have a tumor or something. If they can remove it, you'd lose weight immediately. This is a real emergency, you have got to get to a doctor immediately!!!!

To purge means to puke - and the best way is to stick your finger down your throat!

I'm not lecturing - but informing, because maybe you don't have all the facts...

Please know that your obesity may be due to an underlying medical condition such as thyroid disease (rather than from food itself!) You should ask to see a doctor or professional for testing before you take matters into your own hands.

With only 1000 calories every two days, what are you going to purge ?

Go see a doctor. You really might have a thyroid problem that is the real issue.

Not eating/Binging/Purging does terrible things to the body. It can even cause heart failure.

purging won't help, I know I tried that. I would suggest adding more fiber to your diet to help you feel full, and add in a good multi vitamin and a supplement of chromium polynicotinate. I've lost 10 lbs so far just doing that for a month.

many people who are over weight are malnourished so their bodies fight it by storing the fat.
