About the 144,000 people who will be saved? Why only 144,000? Where did that number come from? What will happen to all the other JWs? Are these predetermined people? Or what? Does it depend on how righteous you are? Or how well you follow the doctrine set forth by the leaders of JWs? Thanks for any insight.

Jehovah is the only true God. Not a Trinity.

Jesus is his son and was once an angel named Michael, tho he is also the creator.
.
144,000 special people will go to Heaven to rule with Jesus.

Most Jehovah's Witnesses will be given conditional immortality on a new Paradise Earth, after the battle of Armageddon wipes out the wicked.

There will be a resurrection of all the dead, to be judged, to be given a chance to become immortal (still on condition of strict obedience).

Hell is just the grave. It is Sheol in the old Testament, Hades in the New.

Blood transfusions are forbidden, and also all holidays and birthdays.

Jesus came into "Kingdom power" in 1914, and has been ruling invisably ever since. Soon after that, Satan was cast out of heaven, which has made conditions worse on earth.

Evolution is denied, tho they believe the "days" of Creation were 7000 years long each.

That about covers their main doctrines.

The number 144,000 comes from the Book of Revelations, where they are mentioned several times. They will be the rulers, with Jesus, from the spirit world, over the peoples on the earth. The earth is where the main group of JW's will live, for all etermnity, IF they remain faithful. The 144,000 are selected by Christ, I believe. I am not sure what the qualifications are, but no doubt they must be especially dedicated.

Rev 5:9 And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”

Notice the people bought by Christ's blood are made into Kings and Priest to God.

Rev 14:. 3 And they are singing as if a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one was able to master that song but the hundred and forty-four thousand, who have been bought from the earth.

Notice those who sang the new song, those who have been bought from the earth are numbered at 144,000.

Rev chapter 7 shows those 144,000 are spiritual Israelites, and that there is a great crowd that also gain salvation.

Jesus teaches only 144,000 go to heaven, not Jehovah's Witnesses.

Those who make up the 144,000 are chosen by Jesus, not by anyone else.

Jehovah's holy spirit communicates with your spirit and testifies to this hope.

Rev 21:3,4 show that the remaining ones of mankind enjoy life on earth.

Jesus' death restores man to their original relationship with Jehovah as faitful human worshipers in a paradise on earth.

If Jehovah wanted more 'angels' to be with him in heaven, he could have created more.

Man was created to live on earth in perfect health, and happiness.

My baptism and dedication is to Jehovah and his Son, and not to a man, or an organization.

Well I can answer only a part of your question. . .it says in Revelations in the bible that 144,000 will be saved by God and they will help spread the word and help God when the time comes. . .it is said that they are predetermined. . .yah, it's not only with JW's, but with most Christians

Jehovah's Witnesses expect that many thousands of the 144,000 have never set foot in a Kingdom Hall or read 'The Watchtower'.

The fact is that the vast majority of Witnesses hope to enjoy life ON EARTH forever, rather than in heaven. Jehovah's Witnesses understand heaven to refer to the dwelling place of spirit creatures such as Jesus and the angels. They understand the Scriptures to teach that exactly 144,000 humans will join Christ Jesus as kings and priests to administer God's Kingdom (which will soon replace all earthly governments).
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
(Revelation 14:1) Lamb [Jesus] standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand
(Revelation 20:6) they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him

The men and women who make up the 144,000 are selected by God from among two thousand years of Christians. Over whom will they rule? Over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”

Hell is NOT someplace/something mankind needs to fear; there is no suffering in the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

Almighty Jehovah God selects those few who have the heavenly calling. Each person "feels" his own hope and each person's hope remains unquestioned by his fellow Christians. Still the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%*) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
