Why don't you take a look in the label inside your shirt and tell me where it was made.
And as for turning you back on the flag - they must have really done a number on you in the military. You were prob. some little wimp that was bossed around by the other privates. You prob. ate small meals to avoid staying at the table with your fellow military men. You prob. snapped at attention when the corporal walked into the room like he was a 4 star General.
Welcome to non- military life. And goodie for you and your attitude - shove it.

The irony in this question is that you have the FREEDOM in the United States on whether or not you must salute the flag. You also have the FREEDOM to turn your back on the flag. The very flag that you are mocking through your question and everything it stands for are the same reasons that you have the RIGHTS and FREEDOMS that allow you to be that way.
There are many other countries where you would be shot dead without hesitation if you failed to salute the flag. The fact that this flag allows you the FREEDOM to be so disrespectful should force you to show respect!
And P.S. if nothing else, please try to remember that this is Memorial Day weekend here in the states. There are many people who have died protecting that flag and many more who will die protecting the freedoms you are so blessed to receive.

Well you don't have to salute. Frankly I have a hard time believing you were in the military. If you were, you would know that if you're not in uniform you do not salute, you hold your right hand over your heart without a cover on your head. Also, you don't salute the flag every time you walk by it. You only do it when it's being raised, lowered, or passing in a parade/review.

The flag represents different things to different people. I think for me the flag symbolises everything I'd like America to be, and everything our forefathers wanted it to be. America still has a long way to go on that front. But it symbolises my hope for this country.
People died for your right to choose for yourself whether or not to salute, so perhaps you could salute them with the flag as a symbol of that.

no, it's not OK unless you live in a foreign country.
The better question is if you hate the country so much why did you serve for it?
I know I will get a lot of thumbs down for this but if you hate America so much why do you live there?
Yes, I know, if you read where I live now you will think I have no reason to speak.... but I do.
I didn't leave my country because it let me down... the USA has been and will continue to be the greatest place. If it wasn't so great why do over 5000 illegals try to sneak in every day?
The USA gives you an education, a chance to either fail or succeed, to win or lose. Where else can you come from nothing and make yourself into whatever you dream?
Yes there is good and bad in every country.... you make of it what you want it to be.
Though I live in another place and I am a proud to be here, I still owe a debt to the country that raised me, feed me and educated me.

The American flag is a symbol of all the US stands for, including freedom of speech. So whether you salute the flag, or stand silently by while others say the Pledge of Allegiance is your own decision. Your military service is an important symbol of our dedication to this principal. Use it as you will.

Hello again...
Why does it matter where it was made again? Cute point though...
My only question is... why do you assume everyone wants to know all this about you? You seem a bit grandiose, my friend...
You need to let some of that hate go... get yourself a peace pipe... find a nice feild and role around with mother nature. I think it would be good for you...
And seriously. Have youe ever thought of moving? Seems like all of this angst would be gone if you did that? Why stay and b****? Actions speak louder than words... right?

Mccain or Obama it doesnt really matter, you all are missing the bigger picture. Bush has taken away so many of our rights it is irreversible. Instead of fighting over who is right and who is wrong why dont you do some research into the screwed up things the government as a WHOLE is doing to further taking more rights from its citizens.

Regardless of where the flag is made, makes no damn difference. What is in your heart, does. If you don't like America, and the Freedom we live, and fight, and die for, leave. It's very simple. Don't join the military if you don't believe in your country. MOVE! LEAVE! You weren't forced to salute, you were required to, as an American soldier. If you hate the flag, wtf were you doing in the US Military?????

What's your problem with the flag? It is simply a symbol of the land you live in, and not the current government. If you truly have a problem loving the land you are in - I'd suggest you find a better place to live and move there so you can be happier.
