i heard that a lot of people didnt like that movie because it was making fun of the bible and religion and i think that it actually sent a good message about god: that god is always listening to your prairs and he's always with you. But now i saw a preview of the new movie coming out called Evan Almighty or something like that, its supposed to be like the sequal and i didnt like it cause it seems to me it's a little over the board as in theyre making way too much fun of the bible by trying to make it a funny comedy! whats your opinion what do you think?

I don't know about any sequel but I liked Bruce Almighty. It really had a pro-God message. Morgan Freeman was excellent as God. I also read somewhere that the director of that movie is a Christian.
"Evan' was a character in the First movie so I guess the sequel is about him. I might be good. Sequels usually aren't. though. Still, you can't judge a movie just by the preview.

It is not maing fun. The guy who made it is a Christian, and was trying to help people understand how so many events can be interconnected. It tries to address the issue of why God doesn't just "do this" or "do that."

Personally, I don't care for the movie's doctrinal implications. It isn't that it is sacrilegious or anything, it's that it presents such a limited view of God. The movie reduces the transcendent universal Deity down to a mere human with super powers. But as far as movies go, I like it - and I'm looking foward to seeing Evan Almighty.

I loved Bruce Almighty and can't wait to see Evan Almighty. IMO, one man's inspiration is another man's insult. Meaning that while I saw some very good qualities and promotion of G-d in Bruce Almighty (as well as the previews of Evan Almighty) some people will see something bad and degrading.
I still use lines from Bruce Almighty when talking with people who have doubts about loosing their faith or feel G-d isn't with us... 'You want to see a miracle... be the miracle.' and 'That's your problem Bruce, you're always looking up, everyone's always looking up.'
I often hear people go on and on about G-d being in with us and in us... so it would make sense to see G-d we need to really SEE one another with G-d in them.
As far as Evan Almighty... I think making him a modern Noah is saying a lot about G-d using us, ordinary people, to do his good work. I find that inspiring. In Moses' time and in Noah's... they were both ordinary men... we made them greater than life and have lost the message along the way. IMO, anyway.

I think Bruce Almighty was a brilliant movie. It taught me that God does listen to all our prayers and there's every possibility that He is an African. The most beautiful message, that everyone's missing the point, is that even as God, He can't force people to love Him. Either one does or one doesn't. I'm really looking forward to the sequel!

I liked Bruce Almighty. Was trying to get the point across that anything is possible with God and that we can't put human limitations on those actions.

I loved the file cabinet scene.....one long drawer lol.

I agree, some people take things too far. I thought it was funny, and it had a pro god message. The only strange thing is why did they make god black.
